In a dive bar on the planet Jehovah, the Scarred Man tells the Harpist the story of a prehuman artifact, the January Dancer, and all of the agents and adventurers whose fates become entangled with the strange shifting stone.

Somewhere along the way I lost track of all of the factions involved and what planets they hailed from and what exactly they wanted, but I still had a good time with this far-reaching space opera.

Heckuva twist ending too
