Fangirl: A Novel | Rainbow Rowell

This wasn't quite what I expected but was still a good read. I especially loved Cath's character, between her love of fictional characters and her shyness, I felt like I could really relate. And the excerpts from the Simon Snow books Cath writes fanfiction about made me want to read a whole series about Simon and Baz.

This was hands down the best book I've read this year. There's really no other word for it except beautiful. The artwork amd the way it was formatted/ organized I felt added so much more meaning to the story. I was worried at first that the romance would feel forced or unnecessary but I don't think it came across that way at all. Can't wait to get the second book!!

❤️❤️❤️
I love how this book seems more like a work of art than just a story.

This was a fun read and I'm glad I finally read it after putting it off for so long. I loved seeing how the three stories came together through their connection with music.

The Sword of Summer | Rick Riordan

Pickpick

First of all let me just say this book was amazing. I orginally picked it up because I loved Rick Riordan's percy jackson series when I was in elementary school. The plot was entertaining and absolutely adored blitz and hearthstone (their definitely my new #otp ).
And of course there were references to his previous series which were hilarious.

Jane Eyre | Charlotte Bront
Pickpick

Even though this took me a really long time to read, I still enjoyed the book and especially loved Charlotte Brontë writing style. My favorite part about this book was geting to see how Jane's character changed and developed with each change of setting.

Not entirely sure why but these two lines really stood out to me.

So excited to finally be reading this book! After hearing so many good things about it and reading her series The Lunar Chronicles (which were amazing) I thought I would have to give this one a try.

Between books for school and going to bookstores more often to get my own copies, I haven't been to the library in months. So excited that I was finally able to go again!!

My favorite part about this book is getting to see how mental illness was treated in a different time period. At times I had trouble understanding the people in the story but, overall, an interesting read. #sylviaplath #usedbooks #summerreading

This book was so well written but I still had a hard time reading because it doesn't shy away from descibing the horrors of war. Before reading this book I knew Stalin and the invasion of Russia was bad but I never had any idea just how horrible the situation was. I never knew how huge of a role music could play in saving lives. I don't think a work of nonfiction has ever affected me so deeply. #bookreview #music #Shostakovich #nonfiction #WWII

I loved this book because it was so easy to imagine the people and what they were going through. I started to feel a sort of kinship with the people of Lenigrad. I felt like I was being transported back in time, which I don't find very often when I read nonfiction.

Listening to Shostakovich's music while reading, gives the symphonies so much more depth to know what was happening when he wrote them. I especially love his 5th symphony❤️

Rereading this book for the third time and still just as amazing. #favoritebook #jenniferniven #reread #allthebrightplaces

This is one of the few #booksthatmademecry but still a great read. I really like how it changes perspective because each character had such a different take on problems throughout the story. #jodipicoult #booksthatmakeyoucry #summerreading

When I first started this book I wasn't sure if I was even going to be able to finish it. I just didn't really understand the characters. Once I got into the book I was able to enjoy the rest of it. Maybe not my favorite but was still a good read.

I love this little section of this book so I just had to bookmark it. It was one of those moments you just have to stop and think about what you read because it was so well written.
