What are you passionate enough about that you can endure the most disagreeable aspects of the work? If you love something enough you don't mind the shit sandwich that comes along with it.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book (listened on audible). Soap opera and life lessons delivered in a beautiful exchange between a mother and son.

Ms.Story Have you read his memoir "Dispatches from the Edge"? I liked it 8y
iwitzman No, I'll add it to my stack! 8y

Mehso-so

Captivating story but the writing annoyed me so much. Way too verbose.

Orbeck33 I too thought it was vastly over-rated. 8y
TheWellReadOwl I really tried. I did. 😕 Could not finish. 8y
ramyasbookshelf I have abandoned this once.. But still haven't added it to my 'bailed' list. I think I'll give it one more shot.. 8y
Cut_The_Blah I pushed through to the end. I believe it could have been condensed from 800+ pages to 500. 8y

Another smart, strong, vulnerable woman I admire. Listen to the audio book to get the full Poehler experience.

Tina Fey can do wrong in my book. Listening to her narrate the audio book made it that much more fun.

One of the most touching books I've ever read

Orbeck33 Me too. My heart hurts just thinking about this book. Not many books can touch you so deep and stay with you for SO long. 8y

Found 20 copies of this book in a conference room at work and felt compelled to take one. Have a feeling I'll be asleep by page 5.

Notabigreader Is there a chapter on snoring? Please read that first. 8y
Orbeck33 Hahaha! I have no clue about the content of this book but if it's about the importance of sleep, I could have written it myself. 8y

Arguably the best children's book ever written. I get a little emotional every time I read it (which is almost every day these days).

todd I completely agree with you! 8y

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Really interesting research and case studies explaining how we can all be creative, champion new ideas, challenge the status quo and inspire others to do the same.

Love Adam Grant almost as much as Malcolm Gladwell. New life goal: raise my children to be Givers. @Orbeck33 and @todd you two are definitely givers. 😀

jeff How did you like Originals? (Recently picked this up on a bookstore visit and recalled you had posted a quote.) 8y
iwitzman Liked it a lot! 8y
Orbeck33 Awwww... I'm flattered and I don't even know what it means :) 8y
