Wolf Mother | Lisa M. White

A mother, a full moon, & menopause.
What could go wrong?

When frazzled mother of 2, Gillian Campbell learns she‘s going through early menopause, things get hairy & they go downhill from there.
Literally.
Suddenly getting through afternoon tea with her mother in law & being roped into the Parent & Guardian Committee meetings are the least of her worries.

Women‘s fiction meets urban fantasy in this werewolf tale with a twist.

I love these paranormal women‘s fic books by Elizabeth Hunter. Her characters are relatable & lovable & I especially love that both this book & book 1 in her other series features a married couple.

Such a great book. I think we‘ve all been Joey at one point, wondering “What if I didn‘t do that?”
Loved this & loved the next book in the series too.

Loved this book. I loved the characters, & especially the relationship between the main character & her husband. I‘ve bought the second book in this series.

I wanted to like this, but I really don't enjoy the screenplay format & I found storyline a bit confusing.

I found this one hard to rate. There were a lot of themes packed into it, and I'm ambivalent about the ending. Though I will try another of her books as I don't mind the chatty sprawling style.

Fantastic book. One of those books that makes you wonder how you'd react in that situation (I couldn't help but think of The Husbands Secret by Liane Moriarty). Tension wise, it's a page turner & keeps you guessing to the end. I would never have read it if it wasn't a book club book & now I'm glad I did. Will definitely read more by Jane Harper.

One of the sweetest books I've read. Love it. Makes me think of my fur baby that died. I've re-read it too. & will probably read it again one day because it's just a sweet story about a sweet cat that brought joy to people.

Crazeedi I just borrowed this book yesterday! Now I can't wait to read it! ☺ 6y
authorlisawhite Ooh it's so sweet. I bought the "sequel" too @Crazeedi but haven't read it yet:) 6y
Crazeedi @authorlisawhite didn't know there is a sequel, now I'll have to look for it too! 6y

LOVED this book. Loved it. It's a really interesting story / world / mythology created where money, life force (time) & blood are bound together & traded & the images the author has created with this is really cool. The characters are interesting & the plot twists are good too. The romance thread is sweet & subtle & I'm really looking forward to the next book:)

I LOVED this book. Liane Moriarty has a way of capturing people as they are. e.g. the 3 main characters & the parents at the school are written so well. The book is funny, sad & sweet. I loved the TV show too. There were a couple of things in the series that I didn't like and those things weren't in the book (something to do with Madeline). All in all, if you liked the series you'll still get a lot out of the book.

Jess7 Love this book!! 6y
authorlisawhite @Jess7 have you read many of her others? I'm working my way through them. Soooo good!:) 6y
Jess7 I loved The Husband‘s Secret. I didn‘t really like What Alice Forgot and I didn‘t like Truly Madly Guilty. I own her others, but I haven‘t gotten to read them yet. Which ones have you read so far? 6y
authorlisawhite @Jess7 I loved The Husbands Secret too & I loved What Alice Forgot. Started 3 wishes but got side tracked with other reading :) want to read Truly Madly Guilty :) got her sisters book too on the weekend:) 6y

What a great book. The characters are beautiful. The story is sweet. Loved it! It covers the theme of ageing and death from every angle and in a way that so many books don't. If you liked the TV show Six Feet Under you'd probably like this story.

I liked the movie, but LOVED the book. The book wasn't what I was expecting at all. Alice Hoffmann writing style is quirky (but fantastic). I couldn't help but think of Chocolat as I read this (although writing styles are so different) the observations about people and love are just soooo good!
