The City of Mirrors | Justin Cronin

It has arrived!!!! I'm having trouble deciding between starting this or The Fireman. Ugh!

TheNextBook I read this and can definitely recommend it. Enjoyable but a completely different animal than the first two books! I cant wait to read The Fireman 8y
ShelfSpaceLimited Finally reading the Passage, so I can read the entire trilogy. The release of this has certainly motivated me. However, I read the Fireman in one sitting the day it came out, because I'm obsessed with Joe Hill. 8y
Dylangrrl Both are definitely winners!! 8y

Love, love, love this book!!! One my favorite YA novels, for sure. I've already purchased the next in the series (Did I Mention I Need You), and will be dying of anticipation for the three and final book. Highly recommend this book if you're a fan of YA romance. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I just found this for pre order on Amazon. I'm so excited for this book!!! I love The Maze Runner series and can't wait to read about the building of the maze. It's going to be a long wait until September.

ShatterMeFangirl I wish they'd continue the actual series instead of make another prequel but I'm still excited for this to come out 8y

I'm about 1/3 of the way into this book and I LOVE it. Believable, relatable characters and a realistic look into the adjusts of a blended family. Plan for the day includes tea and reading this as much as possible

The Host: A Novel | Stephenie Meyer

I really liked this book. Better than the twilight saga, actually. I'm still holding out hope for the sequel Stephenie teased all those years ago.

Josie I fell in love with this book in high school! I didn't know there was supposed to be a sequel!! I would love that. 8y
Zypdoda I love this book and I'm still hoping for a sequel as well! 8y

It | Stephen King
Pickpick

My favorite, favorite, favorite Stephen King story!!! One of his best, for sure. My copy is well read and worn, and writing this review is urging me to read it yet again.

Jamesmelvinmitchell One of My absolute favorites of his. I despise clowns and the mental picture I got when reading it made it all the more scary to read. 😬 fun. 8y

A heart wrenching true story about child abuse and its impact on the abused. I sobbed many times & had to stop reading for feeling distraught and sickened that this was/is some children's life. I have never been so moved by a book, as I was by this one. This story is why I became a social worker.

Go Ask Alice | Anonymous
Pickpick

This is an absolute MUST READ for parents of teens and for teens themselves. A true account of the spiral into drug addiction and the destruction it causes to the individual addicted and to her friends & family. It also shows how quickly addiction grips and destroys all in its path.

Kill Order | James Dashner

The prequel to The Maze Runner series, it should still be read after completing the original 3 books. This one was actually my favorite of the series, because it answers so many questions about how and why WICKED and The Maze were created.

ShatterMeFangirl I read the trilogy but never prequel, maybe I should read this one! 8y
Turtley_Awesome_Bookworm You definitely should! A new set of characters, because it's before Thomas and the others are even born. It's about the start and spread of The Flare mostly. It's really good!!! 8y

This true story is so incredibly moving that it made me realize I want to be a social worker, specifically in the foster care system. I have never cried so much or so often while reading a book as I did during this one. A must read. But keep tissues nearby.

This is one of my favorite books. It accurately, and with just the right amount of emotion, describes depression and it's affect on the diagnosed individual and his friends/family. I've recommended this book to everyone I know. 5 of 5 🌟

The second installment in The Passage trilogy. It doesn't disappoint!!! Suspense, thrills, and horror. Well developed and relatable characters. Highly recommend this sequel. And can't wait for the final installment.

It dragged at first (1-2 chapters), but it sped up after that and kept me hooked. It's a long read and it does drag in some parts, but it's an awesome story overall. Suspense, thrills, and horror. Well developed and relatable characters. Highly recommend this book!

Big Little Lies | Liane Moriarty
Pickpick

I love Liane Moriarty books, and this is one of my favorites. Seamless transitions between character POVs and a compelling story about the lies we tell ourselves and each other. I can't wait for the HBO mini series.

ShelfSpaceLimited My favorite by her so far! Very excited for the new one this summer. 8y

I have mixed feelings about this book. It's a compelling story with relatable characters, & I like the focus on the affects we have on other people without necessarily realizing those affects. But I don't like the idea of leaving the guilt behind for others. It was a great read, though. 4 of 5 🌟

Wow!!! Great characters and jaw dropping plot twists. I couldn't put this book down. Ignoring phone calls and staying up too late, just because I couldn't get enough. It's that good!

ShatterMeFangirl I REALLY wanna read this!! 8y
Donna_sBookMinute It is really good. I'm "reading" the audiobook now. Probably gonna miss my "In the Heat of the Night" reruns to finish it by tomorrow. ?? 8y

Bailedbailed

I didn't like this book at all. This is one of only 2 books that I have ever abandoned. I disliked it that much. I couldn't get into the plot, I didn't connect with the characters, and the storytelling/POV was too erratic for me.

TeaStories I almost bailed on this book too. It's very difficult to understand with the various characters and reports. I would have stopped reading but the AIDANs narrations sucked me back in half way through. 8y

Looking for Alaska | John Green
post image

I think John Green is to YA Fiction as Nicholas Sparks is to Adult Fiction. Real characters with real life problems and rarely a "happy" ending in any of their books. But they are the same books that cause me to sit and reflect before moving on to the next one.

ShatterMeFangirl Love that book!!! 8y

A fun, easy read. The characters are relatable and I always love a strong female as the lead. I've read the first two books in this trilogy and will be reading the final installment when it's released.
