This is such a fun light hearted book. I am still in the first 100 pages though. As a math teacher, I love the basic tidbits of math and science and classroom teaching. I really don‘t have a good grasp of science, but Weir explains it well. Very interesting and humorous too!

Yes, I‘m still reading this. I‘m slow! It was making me a bit depressed too. But I talked about it with my book club friend who‘s reading it, and she said one theme is that life was still difficult before the apocalypse, which to me means life is as difficult as you make it to be. We‘re not just victims of our lives, we are the main drivers. I do like this book!

I just started this book today, for a book club meeting 5/9:

I love her artwork. I can‘t stand the guidebook. Also, some of the cards, I just don‘t connect with (especially my significant or Queen of Cups). And the art is super detailed and hard to see sometimes unfortunately. Overall, beautiful but not useful or insightful, for me personally. #tarot

Ah, I was going to go to a local book club tonight for my first time, and it got rescheduled to next Wednesday without a reason, via meetup. :( we were going to talk about the first half of Station Eleven. I guess I have more time to get to the halfway point and beyond! Yay!

I bought this book for husband as a gift. It was fun to read together (I read aloud to him certain books that we think we‘ll both like…does anyone else here so that???) overall it was okay. A bit redundant. A fun little museum/octopus/scuba diving related book. But there‘s probably better ones out there. Hopefully.

I don‘t think I ever finished this book actually because of my lackluster impression of it :(

I listened to a Tarot Bytes episode today with Mary Greer on her book that I have yet to read - Tarot for Yourself. I tried her face up method with the Celtic cross - consciously choosing all the cards I feel like are good and right for each position in the spread. What a great feeling!!! What a wonderful exercise. #tarot

About halfway through. Was reading this aloud to my husband, but he‘s not super into the book. Maybe I‘ll finish it on my own!

THE quintessential tarot book. The tarot bible. I still refer to it, years later. So easy to read, too. Can read it cover to cover, and it's enjoyable, or use it as a reference book.

Maybe not the best book to start the series with - as I would have preferred a more cohesive novel than a disjointed collection of stories. The show is better. However, I‘ll read blood of elves next and get back to you!

Pickpick

Even though I have not read the book cover to cover (it‘s gigantic and I feel like it‘s more of a reference book), this Tarot gem is vital to any practitioner, whether to practice tarot for self care or read for others. Wen even provides on her website, recommendation for which chapters to read depending on your level of tarot knowledge!

Year of the Monkey | Patti Smith

While I adored Just Kids (I‘ve read it 3 times and it‘s one of my all time favorites), I found Year of the Monkey was comparatively a little bit of a let down. Denser, less relevant, less cohesive.

Is this going to get really scary? I never read horror - but I heard this book could be categorized as such. I am reading cautiously, on page 79 or so!

Caitlin89 It's not scary! It gets a touch suspenseful at one point, but never scary. I just finished it today and loved it. Looking forward to your review! 2y
