Very well written and researched. Felt more like a conversation with a good story teller that keeps receipts of the all the latest studies and relays the information from an educated layman perspective

Truly thrilling to experience the point of view from a psychiatrist using neuroscience, biochemistry and her own experience proving that the ancient saying “let thy food be thy medicine” is not only true but essential for our overall health but how nourishing our brain with food can impact our lives.

Chrissyreadit I 100% agree food is medicine! 2w

If you want to be donkey kicked by hard facts but in a good way because it‘s written like a comforting cup of cocoa with a hardy dose of cyanine pepper. lol A great combo on a cold day.

Interesting read for sure. It‘s like if Bobby Flay and Zahi Hawass teamed up for a documentary traveling around the world diving into the history of food and how that food was and should be prepared for optimal nutrition and flavor.

This includes my reading list because snuggles require rubbing and petting with alternating hands. 😆

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick My reading time is usually when my guy is out playing pickleball or working late. My dog just likes to bark at me for treats for about 2 hours until he's finally tired and full. Then my guy gets back home, and he's a quiet little angel. But then my guy instantly puts the TV on. There's a reason I sometimes stay at work late. 🤣 7mo

Leslie_Ak2Oh @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick have you tried reading allowed to your fur baby? He might be inclined to not ask for as much treats bc you‘re giving him attention of some sort 😂 7mo
Leslie_Ak2Oh @rubyslippersreads Oh, this guy gets salty but he just follows me back to the bathroom to cuddle in my lap there while I‘m in there 7mo
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I haven't tried that in a while. I'll have to give it another shot. My dog is super food motivated. The only time I get a bit of a reprieve is if I'm cleaning. 😬 7mo

This book is a great blend between information and entertainment. I was sadly surprised when it came to an end. I‘d forgotten that as an audible version, it was only 6 hours.

A wonderful mostly unbiased insight into the issues we are having with youth today and mature ways to help us help them overcome the challenges they will face.

Okay…I‘m not going to lie. I‘m bleeping loving this book & I‘m considering buying copies for the young parents in my life. Kids today are indeed far to fragile and I‘m grateful for my father for showing me how to have a tuff skin so I can pass that along to my stepchildren.

Currently reading. I love reading stories from people who were vegan or vegetarian until they actually step on a farm and wake up to reality and reconnect to nature. But Nicolette has a unique perspective being a environmental lawyer. Really enjoying this experience.

Mehso-so

An entertaining read but can be summed up simply as for every convenience we make, we lose a skill and distance ourselves from what we are and have always been.

What starts off coming off as a rant ends up being a desperate plea for things to change for our generation and the next.

Just a little over half way through and still surprisingly into this one. It started off feeling more like a rant, but now it‘s more of a plea with facts to back up his talking points.

This is an enlightening journey that will leave you hungry for things you had no idea that existed and experience food as a tasty piece of history that can help you connect to the people who are apart of you, but you‘ve never known.

Interesting read because you‘re supposed to just read one devotional page here and there and I‘m not very religious. But a few pages definitely stuck with me and I would definitely want to recommend it. The author actually gave me this book out of the blue and honestly I was going to keep it, but ended up giving to a friend going through some hard times. My friend ended up ordering a copy to send to her sister. It‘s a gift that keeps giving!
