The Book Thief | Markus Zusak

Finally picked up The Book Thief (yes, I'm behind here...) Hopefully it lives up to the hype.

John Green did it, he made another story I enjoyed. As many people love John Green for The Fault in Our Stars (which I read), the book that captivated me the most was Looking for Alaska (seriously, if you haven't read it, please do!)
In Turtles All the Way Down I see a similar story and style to Looking for Alaska, and despite all of his stories carrying a budding teenage romance, this one kind of falls flat in that department. Just what I needed.

Trackers 3: The Storm | Nicholas Sansbury Smith

As I delved into the 3rd installment in this series I felt excited, but I ended up losing interest. Not that the writing died down or it wasn't as good as it's previous counterparts, it still an amazing story. I just lost interest in the topic, I hope to go back to it though....

Trackers 2: The Hunted | Nicholas Sansbury Smith

As the saga continued forward I never lost the feeling of needing to know what was going to happen next, I knew I needed to know if a man and his dog we're going to help save the world. I needed to know if this was how our world was going to end. The way Nicolas Sansbury Smith draws in the reader to make them feel like they're seeing the story through the eyes of any given character is something to be applauded.

This book was amazing, I couldn't put it down. The way the reader is drawn in, feeling like you're right there in the middle of a small Colorado town, just captivating. I needed to turn the page and find out what the fate of the world was going to be.

The Glass Castle: A Memoir | Jeannette Walls

So, I loved this book. I've read it twice, and I didn't think I could cry as much in one story as I did. It captivated me and made me really believe that I was right there with her. It also was relatable to me, as far as the relationship she has with her father. I was able to watch this movie on a plane trip and I loved the movie just as much as the book, but I had to like blink a 100x a minute so that I wouldn't be a snivelling mess on a plane.

So, I did a bad thing. Something I don't normally do, and I watched a movie without reading the book. I loved it. It was cute, heartwarming, and perfect. It made me laugh and cry, it made me angry and happy and sad all at once. Well done. I will eventually read the book, but in the meantime I hope that it did justice to those who have read it. #FreeViewingOnAPlane

catsuit_mango I did exactly the same thing, on a plane too, and now I'm on litsy checking if I should also read the book. Very rare occurrence indeed! 6y

Not the best picture, thanks to hubby being bad about glare on the glasses, but got to visit #TheLastBookstore in Los Angeles/Pasadena California this past week. Was awesome.

I loved this book, memoirs are normally not my favorite thing to read, but this one was good. It was well written, I enjoyed the young boy narrative of it and I felt like I was being let into a time in his life that shaped him. It made me laugh and it made me angry, but mostly it made me laugh. It was relatable and real. It left me wanting more of Toby's history, aside from being an author, what did his life turn out to be?

1. My literary tastes vary, I love almost anything. I however cannot put a book down even if I don't like it.
2. A few of my favorites would be Lois Lowry, J.R.R Tolkein, J.K. Rowling, Harper Lee, Cynthis Voight, Mildred D. Taylor, and Richard Wright
3. I hate over exaggerated romance
4. I want to read more historical fiction
5. Toss between The Museum of Extraordinary Things and The Regan Diaries.

Misconceptions | Nikki nin

Found an awesome story written by a young black woman, I'm only through the first chapter but it has drawn me in. I need to know more about these young women from New York. Misconceptions, under the penname of Nikki Nin, is a FREE book on Google Books, please help encourage this young author to write, explore, and publish more.

P.S. Will post a review when I finish it.

Loving this Memoir from Tobias Wolff, so good, I'm about halfway through and still curious ok every page. I'll have to look into that movie after, I have a feeling the Robert De Niro character is similar to his role in Matilda, so maybe it will be a good movie adaption.
