A slow day on call and my kids at the pool left me alone with my bookstack to dream and plan this lovely Sunday. So far this is my least favorite Gamache novel but a leisurely afternoon of tea and reading and travel planning made it all worth it!

Only made it half way through my book stack this beach trip but it was some great reading. I had a little trouble getting into I Let You Go but the twists and turns really got me hooked and I ended up loving it!

The first of my beach reads this year. I adored this book so much and I hear it's even better as an audio book!

When you score a copy signed by the author and your three year old thinks it means everybody gets to write in books...

"Having a friend, Chief Inspector. All you need is one. Makes all the difference." I am so excited to be reading an Inspector Gamache again. I have missed the citizens of Three Pines the last few months. I love this quote. I have found this to be very true in my life lately. One friend, who has become my lifeline in a difficult time, has made all the difference.

This book was a #MMDbookclub pick and honestly, I never would have read it otherwise. As a physician, I never really like to read books about other doctors because I end up getting irritated by any number of things but this book, this portrayal was spot on. The story was great, tackled a tough subject and was also just a great portrayal of life in a big family with a doctor mom. I loved it so much!

QuietBookReader Did you get to participate in the discussion with the author? That was so much fun!! 7y

Wow! I loved this book! Fast paced, grabs you from the very beginning. I had so much to do this weekend and all I could think about was this book and how I could sneak away to read it!

It's chemo day and my daughter has abandoned me for the art table and her favorite Arts for Life teacher. I am always so thankful she feels good enough for art and I don't mind being abandoned. I have my knitting project, a good book, AND a good audiobook to curl up with!

Stuck at work all weekend due to the weather but at least I got to knit and listen to my book! This was a fascinating read, really interesting insight into modern culture and PTSD and how humans cope with adversity. It's a genre I usually avoid as there were times I thought "this could be a doctoral dissertation" but Junger's writing and reading style made it a great read.

I have definitely been a "carnal" reader of this book. Pages dog eared, laid out open, tea spilled on it. One night I even fell asleep reading and slept all night curled up with it.

I got out all of our Advent and Christmas books for the reading basket. I may have a little bit of a Christmas picture book addiction!

Finishing up Thanksgiving by sharing this wonderful book with my four little loves. I love listening to them speculate about what will happen and whether the professor has been to Narnia before.

Some unexpected down time at work means I get a minute to drink tea from my son's art mug and work on a Christmas project, while listening to my book. I am really enjoying the opportunity to get to know Judge Ginsburg through this memoir. I honestly hadn't given a lot of thought to the lives of the Supreme Court justices before but now I would love to meet her and chat with her. Such an amazing person wrapped in such a small, unassuming package!

Rebecca | Daphne Du Maurier, Dame

I love a morning off with my book stack, a cup of tea and my Kindle. Today's book is Rebecca, which I first read as a wide eyed 15 year old. Then I thought it was dreamy and romantic and I had so much sympathy for the narrator. Now, as a married fortysomething, I am finding the book aggravating. Maxim is moody and borderline abusive. The narrator has no backbone and none of these people have any idea what relationships are supposed to look like!
