This is a cute young adult novel about two good friends who realize their feelings for each other over a summer together in NYC.

This book dives into the tropes of friends to lovers, found family, and summer romance, as well as coming of age. The part that made me tear up was how all of our stories are connected, a larger, moving story that gives them all one important thing in common: the need to love and to be loved.

Book 55/100.

I always love Emma Lord, and this book was no exception. I really appreciated how she dove into all the characters' motivations and fears, and the parallels between Riley running toward and Tom running away were so well done. Still had her trademark humor, but this one felt a little deeper than the rest. #yalit

I decided to start this book. This is another book I have to read on Netgalley. This is the first book I‘m reading by this author. So far, I think it‘s just okay and cute but I‘m feeling kind of bored with this book. I‘ll keep reading and see if it gets better. If not then I‘ll just DNF it.

I really loved how complicated and real the relationships were in what I thought was going to be a cutesy, Lifetime movie-like read this was going to be. The mother-daughter relationship struggling through growing up and letting go really resonated with me, obviously.
A nice surprise of a read!
