Another book from my TBR list and I for one am happy to check this off.

I wish there was more of Sebastian moments. I feel that really could have helped his character's arc from rake to husband of convenience to caring and loving at the end because while I enjoyed the book, I just didn't really fall for it but I had moments were maybe with a little more something, I could have.

Delightful! Loved the first book of the Wallflowers series. Somehow I‘ve never read this one. Great listening on #audio while I started to scan all of my books into #libib with the barcode scanner my sweetheart got me for my birthday. So much fun! #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks

A much better outing for me than Dreaming of You, even if Ivo Jenner bites it. I don't have the love for Kleypas that some do, but I'm glad to have not disliked another one from her.

This was such a cute, fluffy romance that had me giggling and rooting for a sweet, happy ending! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love Lisa Kleypas.

After the ending of the second Wallflowers book, I HAD to see what was in store for Evie and Sebastian - a sweet virgin and a notorious rake.

Any guesses? 😄

I finished this one this morning as I was cleaning the house…I became hooked on historical romances during the pandemic and had not listened to this one yet. I think I‘m not as riveted anymore!

Overall, this was an okay listen. Nothing truly wrong with the story, and it‘s my understanding that the version I listened to from Audible is an updated text version from the original 2004 publication. I did find myself annoyed with the possessiveness…

Librarybelle …of the lead male character, Simon Hunt, who did not seem to take Annabelle‘s initial “no‘s” and “go away‘s” as actual “no” statements. But, as the story unfolds, you learn a bit more about Simon and Annabelle, and Kleypas introduces readers to the limited roles spinsters and can play in society. The story grew on me. Maybe I‘ll listen to book two in the series at some point, but I‘m not going to binge the series right away! 11mo
ravenlee I read a Kleypas romance a few months ago and it had some really problematic stuff, too. I don‘t think I‘ll read her again, between my experience and reviews like yours! 11mo
Librarybelle @ravenlee I read that one during my binge pandemic listen time and remember liking it, but it also makes me wonder if these stories were such good distractions for me during that time that anything would sound good. Or at least, would not make me pause and think about the underlying thoughts of the characters. 11mo
