Hmmm... 3.5/5 ⭐

It's a solid divergent+hunger games mash up but it's by no means original.

I wish there would've been more of a development of the government + plague cover ups. The content of it that did exist was good but kept getting overshadowed by the romance. The romance was underdeveloped and super insta-love (which I hate). I also wished for more time spent comparing the poor groups vs. the government + the protests.

Switching to this for the Star-Crossed Lovers category of the #summerflingread challenge. It's been on my TBR for like a year. I really liked Lu's The Young Elite but everyone says this series is better so I'm very eager to start it.

SassenachTheBookWizard @Mommamanzi oh boy! Lol. He's actually already fixed but I'm trying to get him to stop licking his paws raw and let me apply antibiotics to fix it. He's quite sensitive/allergic to something, we think 7y

Daisey Interesting, I've read this book and The Young Elites. I liked that one much better than this one, although I haven't finished either series. I'll be curious to hear your opinions. 7y

Mommamanzi Our Bella is allergic to the grass! She is cream colored but turns brown/red where she licks constantly. It's never ending with my crazy 3 dogs haha. 7y

RanaElizabeth Oh, man. We went through a licking stage with our bulldog, drove me nuts...especially as cones don't work with their head/neck shape. We eventually had him on a daily allergy pill which was great, no hives or licking and his eyes weren't as goopy. 7y

I desperately want to reread this one so I am using it as my Star-Crossed Lives category for the #summerflingread. Sadly, a co-worker is currently borrowing my physical copy so I'm audiobooking this one! I'm curious how or if the novella Wandfasted will influence this one.

I've enjoyed all of them but The Raven Boys has been my least favourite

The Raven Boys | Maggie Stiefvater

so-so

I was quite underwhelmed by this book. It was hyped so much and it fell so flat. It picked up near the end and there's good potential for the sequel (which I will give a chance). I have a really hard time saying a book is good because the very end gets interesting. By the time things started picking up, I was just exhausted with the characters. Just wanted it to finish up. Even the magic was written quite boringly...

Booklydear I fell into the whole hype for the raven cycle I loved the storyline but it did drag a bit and the characters I didn't get to connect the way I would have wanted to for me it was a so - so which is disappointing loved the paranormal feel to it ! 7y

soozandherbooks I couldn't agree more - this was so hyped and ended up just being so average! Such a disappointment. 7y

PleasantPhantasm The Dreamtheives is my favorite of the four. Sadly the last two books were very underwhelming. 7y
