Deeply disappointed that main character Paige never wears anything remotely like the gorgeous cove. It's all dowdy outdated business wear, cut offs & stained tshirts. Pet Peeve of mine when cover doesn't match character. Aside from that it's a great story on dealing with grief, the suburban obsession with turfgrass, crazy office politics & gardening as therapy. I personally work out my worries with weeding.👩‍🌾

Quiet rainy Saturday. 1st part I wasn't sure what was going on. Checked Goodreads reviews and saw that it was 3 Novellas that came together in the end. Once I started 2nd part I was hooked. Excepting getting up for more tea, I finished book in one 'sitting'. I just couldn't get into it. Probably the family drama and then 'I don't want to talk about' attitude. I had trouble keeping characters in 'Diary' straight in my head. Not author's fault just me. (I should start a Goodreads shelf for that.) Also if I found a Tell All Diary it wouldn't take me days to read it. I'd stay up all night. 💁‍♀️

Another one I finished in my weekend binge. This book has all the charming aspects, i.e. gardening and recipes, of the series. But first part is a rehash of events in previous book and then new mysteries are left unfinished. Fortunately I read DD and Poinsettia Puzzle back in December so I know what happens. It's almost like author should have condensed and combined the two books. ☘

Temperatures hovered just at freezing all day. Lazy day by the fire. I was able to finish last few chapters of Silver Dollar Bush and all of Eleven O'clock Lady. Eleven O'clock Lady had more mystery than flower. Lot going on in Dahlias personal lives. Interesting story. 👩‍🌾

Good day for a cozy read. Catching up on the Darling Dahlias. I enjoy this series for characters, recipes, and of course the gardening. Good thing because this time not a lot of mystery but a lot of character development. Favorite thing is how it always includes Liz's The Garden Gate newspaper column. 🌻🌼🌺
