pickThis was a bit slow for me in parts. There were a lot of times where I struggled to stay interested, but I did like the story a lot. Once I realized how all the characters came together, I also liked that aspect, too. I thought it was very interesting that the author brought together mental illness and cancer and showed how crippling both are and the level of support needed for those who suffer from both. Well written and green ending.
pickThis was just so lovely. The ending did feel a bit rushed but it was just a sweet story about loss and friendship and moving forward.

The Music of Bees, which I read for a book club, is a solid novel with dynamic, charismatic characters. Alice, Jake, and Harry, all struggling with their familial relationships, form an unlikely bond over Alice's beehives. While there is nothing extraordinary, it's a well-done, uplifting book, written, in-part from the author's experiences as a beekeeper. I'm curious to read her memoir about a sister with autism. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
