Opening line: "Sleeping Beauty is pretty much the worst fairy tale, any way you slice it." Immediately pulled me in, and I devoured this novella in one sitting.

Once again I was going to “savior” a book and yeah I blew through it. Because that‘s what you do when you‘ve got no “shelf control!” This is the continuation of the first book but from Alyce‘s POV. So good. So very good. #darkfairytale #sleepingbeauty #lgbtq #mayread #springread

As I have come to expect from Mercedes Lackey, this book was a delight. However I am a bit confused as to whether or not this book is the first of the series… more research is needed….

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Loved this retelling of Sleeping Beauty. I don‘t want to give too much away but this story really gives the Sleeping Beauty character so much agency. I can‘t wait for the follow up story.

A fun reimagining of Sleeping Beauty. It includes some entertaining multiverse references that actually end up making sense. Thank you to Alix Harrow for giving me a chance to finally use the Disney knowledge stored in my brain.

Thanks for tagging me in #Two4Tuesday @TheSpineView !!

1. It kind of depends on the vacation, but roughly “a pile“ 😂 I tend to use vacation as a time to reread some old favorites, which I find relaxing.
2. Yes, I mostly read physical books in general, and I honestly love the way books seem to soak up the vibes from vacations. The tagged book has been taken on probably a dozen vacations. But I do take my Kindle for back up!!

TheAromaofBooks Want to play @vonnie862 @nocto @LeticiaToraci @faelinwolf @Bklover ?? And anyone else who would like to join!!! 3w
KristiAhlers I always pack the kindle so I can read what motivates me. And I ALWAYS manage to end up at a bookstore where I ALWAYS walk away with books 🤣 3w
AnneCecilie Someone else who is just like me. I generally associates books with specific vacations 3w

melmes Which kindle do you use? 3w
melmes @AnneCecilie I agree ☝️ 3w
TheSpineView You're welcome! Thanks for playing! 3w
TheAromaofBooks @KristiAhlers - I love visiting bookstores on vacations!!! I'm also a huge fan of antique stores/flea markets - I've found loads of fun older books that way. 3w
TheAromaofBooks @AnneCecilie @melmes - I have a lot of books that are associated with where I read them, and I love that!! 3w
TheAromaofBooks @melmes - I have a 6“ Paperwhite that's several years old now. It's not fancy but it's perfect for as much ereading as I do, which isn't a super lot. 3w
Bklover Thanks for the tag!!! It‘s Wednesday but I‘ll play anyway!! 3w
LeticiaToraci I usually take four physical books and my e-reader too. 3w
melmes @TheAromaofBooks sounds nice! I was eventually thinking on getting a kindle. Although, I‘m not completely sure about it 2w
TheAromaofBooks @melmes - I really like the Paperwhite. It has a different type of screen from a normal smart phone/tablet so it doesn't glare. My eyes get really fatigued if I read a lot on my phone, but I don't get that from the Paperwhite. It's great for times when I don't know how long I'm going to be gone/how much reading I will do - for a while I was spending a lot of time at doctor appointments with a family member, and the Kindle was great for days ⬇ 2w
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) when I wasn't sure how long I was going to be sitting in a waiting room!! I still prefer to read physical books, but the Kindle has found its place in my world because it is lightweight, convenient, and can hold so many books at once. But I do find it difficult to organize books on my Kindle, and I'm someone who likes to own physical copies of things, so I don't ever see it becoming my number one reading method. 2w
Karons1 @TheAromaofBooks I also prefer physical books 📚 and never read so much on my kindle they sit on it unread for years and Iv forgotten what i have ! But it is ideal for holidays it‘s the only time I tend to take it . Wev just had a short 6day break in the sun and I took 4 paperbacks of which I read 3 and read 2 on my kindle 😆 2w

It may be short, but this is perfect! I love feminist retellings of fairy tales and this is like a meta version of just that in spades! And to top it all off, it‘s funny! Loved this and can‘t wait for the sequel. 👑

This was fun, I liked it a little better than the Jasmine story, really enjoyed the discussion around Aurora's mental health and depression that ran through the story
