I found #Sapiens in the communal bookshelf at our AirBnB on Corfu, Greece 🇬🇷. I spent yesterday at the pool, reading it. The first half was excellent, the second half, when the author got closer to the modern age, fell a bit flat.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ /5

CoffeeAndABook Corfu in September 🇬🇷 ☀️🎋 Sounds so lovely, have the best time!! And communal book are so cool, I‘ve found some real gems there! 2y

Highly opinionated! If opinions of author are removed the book would be reduced to half of the pages it has. Even the opinions are flawed and contradicting each other at some instances, some opinions are based on now rejected theories. Not recommended if you want to read it to seriously know about history. It is a series of op-ed more than a history book, consisting chiefly of author's rant.

412 p. Loved the beginning. Author presented a different take on early humans and evolution, and up until he started talking about economics and money, it was a fascinating read. The 2nd part of the book felt more like an opinion rather than factful story and I did not enjoy it as much.

I wanted to expand my horizons into what I don't usually read. So I found some interest in Sapiens as I do have an interest in history.

The beginning of this book fasinated me as it mentions the development of the cognitive function of humans. It was mind-opening as the information within this book exposes many perspectives to the reader and changes ways of thinking. Though there is alot to read.

It appears that the size of human brains have been decreasing compared to the forager days. The irony. As we modernize, the need to require superb mental abilities and agility decreases because apparently, we now no longer need to rely on massive brain power and superb agility to survive in today's world. Ha! And here I am, being so proud of my intelligence. 😂 #sapiens #yuvalnoahharari #audiobook #nonfiction #polyreader #nowlistening #nowreading

Another book club book. Excited wouldn't be the word I would use to describe how I feel about reading this book, but I am interested.
More to come!
