Day 6 of #RiotGrams is a book outside of your comfort zone
This book was given to me by my grandmother when I was 15.

She handed me this and said, "I know you don't like romance but I really think you will like this." That was almost 25 years ago. My grandmother died when I was 16.

This book has traveled with me to all the places I have lived since then. I have not yet read it.

Perhaps this is the year.

Pickpick

Pocket references are so small and handy. Even when they are about something as long-winded as XML.

📚 Vous revoir.
🖊 The only author I know is Veronica Roth but I haven‘t read any of her books -Edit- I just remembered Victor Hugo! My french teachers would be so disappointed in me right now.

GoldenGirl As a newspaper editor I can say these ridiculous headlines happen more often than not! By the time deadline rolls around your brain just doesn't decipher words anymore lol 2y
rekahlee This is terrible. It should be “High school arrests man.” #nopassivevoice (edited) 2y
Bradleygirl @RekahLee flashbacks to MSWord judging me in 10th grade 😂 2y
Smangela @GoldenGirl the good thing is it makes you laugh - sometimes with our news lately, you need a good laugh! ☺️ 2y

A Pocket for Corduroy | Don Freeman
post image
Pickpick

A Pocket for Corduroy is a fantasy picture book I will use for a dramatic reenactment. This story is all about Corduroy and his search for a pocket to sew onto his overalls. Corduroy wonders off and gets trapped inside the laundry mat over night. Will Corduroy get out of the laundry mat? Will he ever get his pocket?

ChristinB I will use UDL 6.2 support planning and strategy development for the dramtic reenactment. I will also use ESOL strategy 2 and promote cooperation. The website https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgvFZy4sloo is a link to a read aloud of a Pocket for Corduroy. I will use this link to send home with students so they too can listen along and really get to know the story before they take an AR test on it. #UCFLAE3414F17 2y
laurie_jayy Did he ever get out? Did he ever get his pocket?? I totally love the suspense. I remember reading this book growing up. I love links that link to a read aloud because students can listen to this on their own also if they understand this voice better than the teachers (though we all hope our students understand and love us). 2y
