I love anything odd, this is definitely that. I'm not really sure how I feel about it..
I might hate it..
I will remain optimistic and move to The Last Unicorn.

What a fascinating look at the earliest draft of a beloved novel! This is very different from the eventually published version of The Last Unicorn. The unicorn is basically the same character, and the butterfly appears, plus a few lines are the same, but that‘s about it. A demon accompanies the unicorn for much of her journey, and it just sort of ends—nothing is discovered. The most fascinating part to me is that instead of the Red Bull…

Clare-Dragonfly …covering the other unicorns‘ footsteps, it‘s the road that the unicorn is following throughout the book, which represents the changes wrought by modernity. Both the unicorn and the demon (and a dragon) have problems with that modernity in different directions. 2mo

What a beautiful book. Beagle really has a magical touch with language, weaving a spell of story that holds tight until you wander your way through it. Lyrical and wonderful and just a little bit of horror — all the things a fantastical world should be. Sooz is an ideal MC, her voice strong and compelling, and altogether this novella in two parts was a lovely journey.

Starting one of my Edinburgh buys today — I LOVE “The Last Unicorn”, so I‘m really excited to return to that world…

I thought this would be a little more romantic, and it definitely wasn't that. I knew that it was a Persephone story before I read it, so the "twist" wasn't a surprise, but the foreshadowing is cleverly interwoven.
The writing is good, so I recommend it.

“What reaction was he after? “I prefer men to cook for me naked,” I probed. “Forgot to put that on the list.” “What can I say?” the Luther replied. “I‘m shy.”
― Kelly St. Clare, Shifter Wars

What did you think of this month‘s book?

Do you prefer someone to cook for you or do you like to do the cooking?

How was your February?

Bookworm54 I liked the mating :) I would prefer to be cooked for, because I am lazy. But I do enjoy cooking, if someone is willing to clean up for me 😋 3y
AsYouWish @Bookworm54 I agree, I am okay doing either cooking or cleaning, but I really dislike having to do both!!!! 3y
ElizaMarie I can't cook. Like at all! So I prefer someone to cook for me (or I just have popcorn or something microwavable for dinner) 3y
