Pickpick

And my enchanted cat, who likes the blanket in the empty Tupperware.
3.75? It was very delightful in both its luscious prose parts and its cutting humorous observations but it ties up too neatly and not deeply enough for me to feel it to be really Excellent. What do y‘all think?

Ruthiella I really liked it. I see it as a fairy tale for grownups. It‘s also a good book to read when it‘s cold so the reader can enjoy the sun of Italy in the spring. 😀 3y
MargaretPinardAuthor @Ruthiella it would appear that I am fairy tale-resistant in the present moment then 😭 ah well, I‘m sure the ease will return! 🥳🥰 3y
MargaretPinardAuthor Oh and fairy tale for women, I‘d say, not for men! 3y
CarolynM It's lovely. So is the film🙂 3y
MargaretPinardAuthor @CarolynM so I hear! Thanks to #marchofthemoderns, I‘ve got this and A Passage To India on my to-watch list! 😊 3y

Mehso-so

This was a Great book, I just didn‘t feel that wowed by it. The writing style is dreamy and evocative yet piercing between actions, and it gave me a lot to think about but I don‘t find it staying...buddy read discussion on YouTube much more interesting!
How I did my hair for #EdwardianHairAttempt #marchofthemoderns 👒

SamAnne Yeah, didn‘t do it for me either. I don‘t think I‘m a big Forster fan. 3y
MargaretPinardAuthor @SamAnne have you read any of his others? I think Maurice would be closest, and the earlier ones would be Very Different🥰 3y

Blanket upon blanket for comfort, that is what I‘m betting I may need (and the cat) for my reading of this book. Although it‘s starting out pretty mild-mannered, nothing like Invisible Man...

That was a quick snowstorm. Are we done for the winter, Portland?
Back to cold and cloudy. Still good reading weather.
Excited for this stack of Persephone books I just received, more info to come for #MarchOfTheModerns on #booktube!
Lean Out is really good, too!

valeriegeary Oh yes! Helllllloooooo! 👋🏻 3y
MargaretPinardAuthor 👋🏽 good to see you here @valeriegeary ! It‘s funny, but the downside of an app that doesn‘t creep on your privacy is that it‘s harder to find people you already know! Ah well, Litsy is only place where that‘s true, so... 🤷🏽‍♀️ 🤪 3y
