Aside from constantly being distracted by the male cover model‘s Howard Wolowitzish haircut I enjoyed this older Sandra Brown. Hawk was a precursor to the wonderful heroes Ms. Brown would later write in her romantic mystery/suspense books, though at times he was almost too mean to the heroine. The heroine is spunky and likable, with a son who was cute without being precocious. The resolution at the end was a little rushed, but very satisfying.

I don't know if I could read it now, but I sure did enjoy this 25+ years ago. (!) Best “chase me across the ice while I strip of my clothes“ scene ever. Possibly the only one, come to think of it. ;-)
