I think this book would be well utilized in the classroom by focusing on the community and environment the students live in. A worksheet or even a blank piece of paper could be used to allow students to write about the tiny, perfect things around them or draw them as well. This could help build a sense of community in the classroom and allow students to pinpoint positive things in their surroundings.
pickThis book uses perspective quite well to tell the story of a young child and what seems to be her grandparent. The artist shows things from the perspective of all the “tiny, perfect things“ they see on their walk. With the birds in the trees we get to see the main characters from the view of the tree. Or as the leaves fall we get to see them falling in front of the child and grandparent. This book also uses color to highlight nature very well.
