Onto the third book of The Giver series. I would have it sooner but the library I‘m at didn‘t have it in, so had to search it out from another local library. #excited #bookcovers #libraryreads #summerreading
Awaiting the third part of the trilogy, on request. I found these gripping and the themes so pertinent, prejudice, propaganda and the destructively myopic thought/action that results. And a startling contrast is drawn between the preparedness of the Stillness and our real world refusal to either prepare for or prevent imminent man-made climate catastrophe.

Wasn't sure how my library hold for this one came in so fast, then when I picked it up today I realized it was the large print version lol. Which is fine, I don't mind getting the large print on high demand books. I'm starting to think these types of popular thrillers aren't really my taste, but I wanted to see what all the hype was about. We'll see if I can get into it! #thriller #libraryreads #weekendplans #booked
I didn‘t realize that this was a story about surviving (barely) abuse by your family. I was interesting in the “education” part but that wasn‘t really the focus. The descriptions are honest and a little too much for me. I probably would have skipped it if I knew that was the main focus. But she is an engaging storyteller and that made me keep going hoping she got away from her family. #readwomen #libraryreads #unpopularopinion
