I was just stunned by this book--I listened on #scribd, and Laymon reads his own memoir, which he addresses to his mother. He contends with abuse, heritage, expectations both high and low, and heaviness of all kinds. His account of his life is vulnerable and honest and unflinching in its look at his own weaknesses but also in his journey into finding his own strength. Beautiful, powerful, heartbreaking, heartwarming memoir.
