I didn‘t come across “State Fair” in its month, but I got it eventually.
pickDelores hears her friend and downstairs neighbor murdered. She goes downstairs to check on her and immediately calls the police. Then she asks her daughter, Hannah (who is on her honeymoon), to start investigating. What a cliff hanger we‘re left with.
panI am swearing off books in this series. Yes, I‘ve said that before, but I picked this up at the library, probably because I was hungry. Mistake! I don‘t think the characters can speak a single sentence of dialogue without naming the person they‘re speaking to. Given how often and what they eat, they should all weigh 300 pounds, have a cardiologist on retainer, and be buzzed on more caffeine than any person can drink. It‘s a literary diabetic coma
