I'm glad I found this series by fluke. It is a great distraction if you're looking for something different from all the other authors in your TBR pile.

Most of the stories in this book are brilliant these ladies are so brave and they should be proud of who they are.
They have been threw a lot with race and religion I am glad they all came out stronger and wiser. I am glad I found this book it took a while to get from the library but it's worth the wait.

#currentlyreading it's not about the burqa by Mariam khan
An important collection of essays that explores the pressures of being Muslim and woman today.
Passionate, angry, self-effacing, nuanced in ever way.

This book started slow but stick with it, it gets better.
Sometimes a little personal and self opinionated but she brings it back in.
I love the segments on the inmates them selfs I would have liked to have seen more of the inmates in their own words but over all a good book.

Starting this tonight The Radium Girls.
Have you read this?
I have been wanting to read it for a while, here we go.
Thank you @BookNAround for the book 🤗

Erofan I haven't read the book, but I know the story of these girls. So I guess the book is very serious and will be read with a heavy heart. 5y
kaysworld1 @Erofan I'm going to have to research about these ladies because I know nothing. The starting of this book is haunting tho x 5y
IamIamIam The book was a great account of a dark time, no pun intended, in history. Advances in chemistry weren't keeping up with the discovery of the medical drawbacks of using these elements. 5y
kaysworld1 @IamIamIam from what I have read so far it's brutal x 5y

”Women are the most important part of horror because, by and large, women are the ones the horror happens to. Women have to endure it, fight it, survive it—in the movies and in real life.” Loving this so far. I feel like I‘ve been waiting for this book to come out for years. #femalewriters #horror #biography

Review for all the series I finished 2-5 plus 2.5 and 3.5. Make sure you read the novellas. Now that I know what cozy mysteries are I understand why I've liked This series. A witch, a voodoo priestess, and a physic/budding sorceress abound in these fast paced, yet well plotted tales. There's every romance, an adorable dog, and an incorrigible ghost. I can't wait to keep reading these!

Another book by a strong female writer: Hannah Arendt's essay on the freedom to be free. Gave me a lot to ponder 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Truth & Beauty | Ann Patchett

I adore Patchett 's books, and was fortunate enough to hear her speak at Bath Literature Festival last year. She comes across as very down to earth and is inspirational in this.
This book details her friendship with another writer, dating back to their college days.
