pickThe bios in front of the short stories were perhaps more interesting to read sometimes over the stories themselves. However there were a number of good stories, even though most ended abruptly - a common complaint for short stories.
I've got two on the go! In the Shadow is a collection of short mystery/crime stories written by women that came before Agatha Christie. What is most interesting are the biographies of the authors before their stories. The stories themselves are just okay (so far).
John Irving is said to have a new novel coming in 2020. So I'm reading some of the ones I haven't read yet in enthusiastic anticipation.
pickMost of the stories in this book are brilliant these ladies are so brave and they should be proud of who they are.
They have been threw a lot with race and religion I am glad they all came out stronger and wiser. I am glad I found this book it took a while to get from the library but it's worth the wait.

pickThis book started slow but stick with it, it gets better.
Sometimes a little personal and self opinionated but she brings it back in.
I love the segments on the inmates them selfs I would have liked to have seen more of the inmates in their own words but over all a good book.
