We are almost there! 2 hours to go!!!

Personally I'd invite Farrah to dinner, from the book "Tell Me How You Really Feel" because she's a BAMF!

What about you? Let us know here or on our goodreads page! #EclecticReadathon

jmtrivera From Sky Without Stars, I'd invite Chatine over, because her snark is FANtastic. Also, someone stole food from her earlier, and I'm still really bitter about this. 7mo

I (Jeannette) LOVE bad book descriptions. They're so good for giggles!

My current read: A bunch of dudes decide to kill the most popular guy in town, because they figure once they explain their reasons, everyone will be cool with it. Everyone is not cool with it.
Tell me about yours! #EclecticReadathon

Ruri_kaichou Ender's Shadow: a kid named Bean is jealous of a kid named Ender and they go to war 7mo
EclecticReaders @Ruri_kaichou That escalated quickly. 😂 😂 😂 7mo
Ruri_kaichou I mean, if there's tasty, unhealthy food you do not want to get between that. I believe a kids would go to eat for that 7mo

I (Meredith) am currently reading the sci-fi graphic novel series Saga, so I‘d have to go with some crazy fancy drink with neon colors or dry ice or something lol #EclecticReadathon

jmtrivera I'm reading Sky Without Stars, which is a retelling of Les Misérables, so maybe some French wine. And fresh bread and cheese and fruit, because these characters need some fresh food. Or maybe because that's what I want anytime I'm reading anyway. 😄 7mo
Ruri_kaichou Sticking with Ender's Shadow, I would say fun kid foods like pizza, chicken nuggets, chocolate milk. These kids go through so much in Battle School, they deserve unhealthy kid food 7mo
EclecticReaders @Ruri_kaichou 😂 “Sorry we're training you to be super soldiers and turning you against each other. Would you like fries with that?“ 7mo
Ruri_kaichou @EclecticReaders exactly! 😂😂😂 7mo

For me (Meredith), it‘s definitely Fantasy. I love getting swept away into another world! I‘m getting more into Sci-fi as well. #EclecticReadathon

sprainedbrain I read almost anything, but my favorites and most read seem to be historical fiction. 7mo
Geeklet The huge umbrella genre of speculative fiction. I pretty much like every sub genre that falls under that label, from science fiction to fantasy to magical realism to dystopian. I figure I spend enough time in the real world. I‘d rather spend my free time immersed in something different. 7mo
EclecticReaders @sprainedbrain Nice! What are some of your favorites in the Historical Fiction genre? 7mo

EclecticReaders @Geeklet I totally get what you mean about immersing yourself in something different! 7mo
sprainedbrain @EclecticReaders so many! Kate Morton‘s novels, the Outlander series, Follett‘s Pillars of the Earth, the Song of Achilles by Miller, Ian McEwan‘s novels, many many books set in WWII. 7mo
Ruri_kaichou @sprainedbrain I love Pillars of the Earth! And I enjoyed the sequel as well. World Without End? I thought about reading his other books recently 7mo
Ruri_kaichou I love that my palette has grown since being in the book club, but I think my all time fav genre will be fantasy 7mo
sprainedbrain @Ruri_kaichou I‘ve got World Without End on my list to read this year. Looking forward to it. I got so immersed in Pillars! 7mo
Ruri_kaichou @sprainedbrain I never imagined being so interested in how a cathedral was made. 😆 7mo
sprainedbrain @Ruri_kaichou Neither did I... and then I spent tons of time researching them. 😂 7mo

I actually got in solid reading time last night! Husband was recording his podcast so it was just me. Nothing like a bit of coloring and video gaming while listening to an audiobook. 🤓 #EclecticReadathon @EclecticReaders

Good morning! Don‘t forget you need to answer the check-in questions and log your scavenger hunt points in our Goodreads thread if you want to be in the running for the prize! https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/19904490-june-2019-eclectic-readathon Personally, I read all types of books, but recently I‘ve been reading more audiobooks and hard copies. #EclecticReadathon

Ruri_kaichou I think I skew more towards ebooks but I find all formats beneficial. Like I listen to audiobooks while I work and love my Kindle if I am trying to read when me kids are around. 7mo
jmtrivera Going back and doing some check-ins now! (Not that I can win, but I like racking up points!)
I tend to prefer hard copies and e-books if I'm reading something for the first time. It's really important for me to see and hear everything in my own head first, or I have a hard time paying attention to it, usually. I like audiobooks for rereads though!
7mo
kim.guernsey I like all the formats! but I prefer hard copy for leisurely reading, ebooks for reading on the go. I hardly do audio because I'm not good with listening to a story. I need to see the words. 7mo

sprainedbrain I prefer hard copies, but I listen to SO MANY audiobooks when I can‘t sit down to read. 7mo
EclecticReaders @Ruri_kaichou Kindles are so handy! 7mo
EclecticReaders @jmtrivera Audiobooks are a great way to reread a book! 7mo
EclecticReaders @kim.guernsey there‘s just something about a hard copy of a book, right? 7mo
EclecticReaders @sprainedbrain Audiobooks are amazing for when you can‘t sit and read! 7mo
