Carlotta Walls LaNier recently spoke at the library I work for about her experiences as one of nine Black students who integrated into Central High School in the 50s. Her book does an amazing job conveying in great detail the difficult fight she and her companions faced. It's a painful, heartbreaking, and powerful read that puts into perspective events that weren't all that long ago. #BlackHistory #ColoradoLocal

I liked this more than the last book I read by this #ColoradoLocal author (Cinderella is Dead)! I enjoyed Briseis's plant power, having adopted moms, and the overall feel of the story. In the last 10%, it did drop back into the overly dramatic and mostly unbelievable style that I disliked in her other book. This was recently featured in a #RainbowCrate, which is why I read it! #LGBTQ #PlantMagic

(I tagged the first book in the series since Justice Won isn‘t on Litsy) A pretty fun #LGBTQ read from a #ColoradoLocal author. I enjoyed thinking the founding of mining boom towns, and about gender identity and social gender expression in a historic context. It was a little odd that her mom just stopped being an alcoholic and it never came up again, and a little I comfortable reading sex scenes where Justice was 17. #Colorado #HistoricalFiction

Another super fun book! I loved the introduction of new characters (even the hateable ones), the political strife among elf clans, and the ongoing situation with the mysterious druid. I liked this one even more than the first, and can't wait for the next book later this year! #Fantasy #LGBTQ #ColoradoLocal

I forgot that I convinced my mom to read this book by one of my favorite authors (and a #ColoradoLocal author) and was surprised and delighted to see it on a table in the living room.

My husband is getting me a number of impulse-buy books for our anniversary (very different from my usual don‘t-buy-unless-you-have-researched-and-it‘s-used-but-even-then-maybe-not style of book buying). It‘s been fun and we‘re hitting #localbookstore. Stopped by a favorite shop today and found a graphic novel I‘ve heard good things about and a Colorado author I haven‘t heard anything about! #coloradolocal #coloradoauthor #shoplocal

I love this book, and it‘s my rebirth pick for today‘s #acrossapril prompt! What do you do when your power has been taken away from you and you‘re faced with a world-ending prophecy? #coloradolocal #coloradoauthor @Eggs

Eggs Nice choice 👏🏻🤗✅ 4y

Day 4 of #AcrossApril reminds us that this is #AutismSpectrumDisorder awareness month. I don't have any books in my collection yet for this prompt, so I drew a bookshelf full of ASD authors. I didn't do MUCH research, so the only one I can guarantee is #csu professor Temple Grandin's Thinking in Pictures! #coloradolocal #autism #ASD Sorry it's hard to read because it's small and I'm dyslexic! XD

Eggs Great job 👏🏻👌🏼🤗👏🏻 4y

This was a very satisfying conclusion to this beautiful trilogy. That doesn't mean it didn't leave me wanting more of this story, but that was because I'm so in love eiththe characters and world. (I was also delighted to see another favorite author's praising words on the cover). #magic #spirit #dream #coloradolocal #coloradoauthor
