not really a self-help book, more like a friend giving you advice and maybe a "kick in the pants." i find myself going back to it when i need encouragement or motivation. very no-nonsense :) chapter headings include "how to not live happily ever after...how to be thin...how to be fat…how to fail." good stuff! #LitsyRiotLive #BooksToLiveBy

This book gets me through so much stuff. It taught me about more than I can say- humility, female friendships, finding light in times of darkness. britt_brooke Completely agree with you. I only wish I had started reading him at a younger age. Seriously would've helped me figure out some things about myself. Didn't read my first until I was 30. 😭 But I'm working on catching up. 7y

Amandajoy @Rachael_reads I loved How Yoga Works. I read it as part of my yoga teacher training, we had a book club with it. It's about the sutras but explains them through a story. If you practice yoga & are at all curious about the philosophy behind it, I highly recommend it! 7y

pppooraikul @kmdartist Glad you asked! 😁 It's based on Merlin and Arthurian legend, mostly Geoffrey of Monmount version. What if when Merlin was baptised shortly after birth, his Light and Dark sides were separated? The Dark element became Merlin's brother, Myron. That's the name of the book. Myron played an important part of the Arthurian Legends but not the way Merlin did. And he struggled through out the book to prove that Dark doesn't equal evil. 7y

pppooraikul @kmdartist Darkness is itself, the same way Light is light. And while Merlin did great things to serve Britain, Myron cared about each person as an individual. The book raised the question of what goodness truly is. And the writing (only in Thai, unfortunately) was the most beautiful I've ever read. (And I read quite a lot of Thai literature!) 7y
