What reading apps do people use?

Goodreads is becoming increasingly frustrating to use so I want to swap to something else. I want to track what I've read and be able to search for stuff so I don't buy something I've already read

I'd also like something that tracks time spent reading

Cat for attention 😅

sebrittainclark StoryGraph can import your goodreads books so you don't have to re-enter everything. It also tracks reading challenges and other book stats better, but it does just track reading time by dates, but time spent reading. 2y
PuddleJumper @sebrittainclark Oh great! I've been using that for challenges but didn't realize I could port stuff over. That would be super useful. Thanks! 2y
sharread Hope all is well sending some ❤🎄 your way. Looking forward to playing the winter games with you. What a cute kitty. 2y

thegreensofa Bookly is a good way of tracking what you have read and when. It‘s only star ratings, not reviews though, and it‘s personal (no social platform on it at all except for screenshots to post elsewhere if you want to share anything). But I use it and like it for my tracking 😊 2y
PuddleJumper @thegreensofa Oh thanks! That sounds what I want, I'll check it out! Thanks! (edited) 2y
TheLibrarian I agree with @thegreensofa about Bookly. Great way to track your reading progress without social media or others being involved. Although you can‘t write a review, they do have thought sections for each book. And I just realized you can do half stars instead of full, unlike Goodreads. 2y
thegreensofa @TheLibrarian ..half stars! Wow I never knew!!!! Thank you so much for pointing that out. How many times I have wished I could do that! 😯📚👏🏻 2y
Amandajoy Storygraph is great! Among other things, it lets you set up reading challenges. I just created one for your #100rolls challenge to make it easier to keep up with. 2y
TheLibrarian @thegreensofa Right?!? I just learned about it the other day when I accidentally hit a star twice. 😂 2y
PaperbackPrincess19 @TheLibrarian my favourite is Bookly just because I love the graphics at the end but with the cost I‘ve been searching for alternative and there‘s Leio and Reading List that does similar stuff without the extras. 2y
PaperbackPrincess19 @thegreensofa do you think the cost is worth it 2y
thegreensofa @Paperback.princess19 I never knew about Leio it looks really good! I wrote an article about Bookly a while ago if that helps. (https://medium.com/readingtopia/bookly-an-honest-free-version-review-62fbf2bf817e ). I‘m going to check out Leio now it sounds so similar!, I would say Bookly is worth it if you definitely use the paid features and can spare the money. The free version is what I started with and then I got addicted and I signed up 😄📚. 2y
thegreensofa @Paperback.princess19 whoops I should say, if you do read my article the paid features are mentioned in the last half, the first half is all the general stuff about it! 2y

Despite a pretty low rating here I'm really enjoying Wicked so far. From what I can make out the musical has a much lighter tone so perhaps a mismatch in expectations explains it. I bought a year's subscription to Bookly recently and I'm enjoying using that too... Litsy is still my one true love though ❤️❤️
Morning off, book and a huge cuppa... Housework be damned 📖😍

DGRachel I read the book when it first came out, long before the musical, and really enjoyed it. I didn't care for the sequel, though. 4y
LibrarianRyan I think so many people go into the book looking for the musical. It is in there. However, Maguire is a literature professor, and all his novels are really literary and deep thought pieces. In my conversations most people get lost in the dragon clock because it is only a set piece in the musical. I love the book, but I have read all his other books and knew what I was getting into. Lost sucked, and Mirrored started hard ended well. 4y
Balibee146 @LibrarianRyan agree 100%...i don't know the musical at all and expected a literary work. 4y
Balibee146 @Emilymdxn cool...now I'm curious.. What is your current favourite novel? 4y
Balibee146 @Mandoul @MommyOfTwo @DGRachel good to see some ❤️ for this book 👍👍 4y
LibrarianRyan @Balibee146 The musical is absolutely wonderful, but they only really took the Origin of Elfaba part of the story. Not the politics of oz, or the Dragon clock and the pressures of time. I wont lie, I have seen the musical a few times, But i had read the book long before that. His Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister was so unique that i have been hooked for life (but I HATED Lost). 4y
Reggie I read this back in the middle 2000‘s and it still remains one of my all time favs. 4y
Balibee146 @reggie def one for a re read in years to come 👍 4y
