post image

Just in case authors in here may be interested 😊

I'm organising a scavenger hunt (basically a blog hop) for novels set in the 1910s/1930s, happening on Sunday 17 March. Any genre is welcome.
If you are an author writing in these eras and are interested in taking part, please contact me. See details here https://sarahzama.theoldshelter.com/historytellers-scavenger-hunt/

Readers, l'll keep you posted about it 😄

Good Omens | Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett

I know I'm late to the party here, but I'm jumping on the Good Omens train too for today's #authorcollab #augustphotochallenge. In the interest of contributing something new, here's my fan casting for Crowley and Aziraphale: I always picture House-era Hugh Laurie for Crowley and Stephen Fry for Aziraphale (probably because I was mainlining Jeeves and Wooster when I first read this). Anyone else picture specific people in those roles?

These Broken Stars: A Starbound Novel | Amie Kaufman, Meagan Spooner

I loved the pace and plot of this #authorcollab by Kaufman & Spooner. The entire #Starbound trilogy was great and got me into exploring more recent YA novels. #augustphotochallenge #augustofpages

Sue I'm pretty sure Kaufman can do no wrong. I love her stuff. 8y

I can't say it's my favorite yet as it is currently sitting in my TBR pile, but I've heard wonderful things and our students have loved it. #augustphotochallenge #authorcollab #twoheadsarebetterthanone

Are You Dave Gorman? | Danny Wallace, Dave Gorman

Day16 of #augustofpages and my choice for #authorcollab is Dave Gorman and Danny Wallace. A few years ago, a drunken wager led the former to travel the world seeking out namesakes. I remember really enjoying their shared narration of events! #bookphotochallenge

BarbaraJean Ooh, good pick! I'd forgotten this one! I remember their back-and-forth narration being very amusing. 8y

City of Glass | Paul Auster
post image

The specific version is not in the litsy list (yet) but for #augustphotochallenge today my #authorcollab is the graphic novel adaptation of City Of Glass adapted by Paul Karasik and David Mazzucchelli. I loved it and thought it really added another dimension to the novella and it's one of my favourite graphic novels/comics to date!

Pickpick

Good Omens was my introduction to Terry Pratchett AND Neil Gaiman, probably 20 years ago. I couldn't have been better led by the friend who gave me my first copy. I have given away and repurchased this book over and over through the years, because no one should miss out on it! My favorite #authorcollab for #augustofpages.

Soubhiville First runner up: 8y
Laalaleighh I bought Good Omens because of Neil Gaiman but it was my introduction to Terry Pratchett- I've now read every single discworld book in existence and most everything else he's written as well. Terry Pratchett was incomparable. 8y
Soubhiville @Laalaleighh I so agree with you! The Tiffany Aching books are amount my very favorites! 8y

Laalaleighh @Soubhiville I have The Shepherds Crown sitting on my bookshelf but I haven't even opened it because if I don't read his last book he can't really be gone yet 😭😭😭 8y
Sue It's so good!! There was a dramatised audio version released last year which is excellent! 8y
Soubhiville @Laalaleighh I cried when I finished it, just because it was over. I feel you! 8y
moranadatter It was my first book by both authors too! 8y

The Silver Palate Cookbook | Julee Rosso, Michael McLaughlin
post image

#Day16 #AugustPhotoChallenge #authorcollab For my favorite author collaboration, I went to Julee Rosso & Sheila Lukins of The Silver Palate cookbooks-all the rage for entertaining in the 80s-90s. I had other basic cookbooks but these were my first 'fancy, grownup' cookbooks & have a prominent place on my shelves. The SP authors went on to write separate cookbooks & sadly Lukins died in 2009 but these books are true classics ❤️ 📚#AugustofPages

Alisnazzy For a second I thought this was my mom's post because j recognize a heck of a lot of those cookbooks 😂 8y
GinaAnderson Chicken Marbella! 8y
Hugoreads I had the original book too and I felt so ultra-chic cooking from this. 8y
