There‘s a lot that I would like to say about trying to get this particular package out, but the fact is I got it out and that‘s all that matters. Ship three days so it will be there before opening. pickThe author's personal narrative here is not always overly compelling, but the account of the work undertaken is phenomenal. Theatre of War makes an ancient tradition alive and present on military bases, in hospice centers, carceral institutions, homeless shelters, mental health facilities and more, doing exactly what theatre, at it's best, is meant to do- challenge, inspire, heal, create community, and bring us into dialogue and reflection.
pickAn interesting way to view Rembrandt‘s works - an emphasis on his self portraits and the way he painted his nose. It mentioned a lot about the artists‘ life but didn‘t go into detail. I don‘t much about Rembrandt‘s life so I wish it had more information about that, but otherwise a good read.
3/5 stars read if you want to read about a unique way to consider Rembrandt‘s works.
I'm a big believer in the power of applied theatre, and was very excited to discover each of these titles in small bookstores as I traveled earlier this year.
