It turns out it‘s a reading of the poem in the original Early Middle English (“Chaucer‘s English”)! Even though I couldn‘t understand most of it (a handful of words here and there), knowing the story helped a lot. The original has a cadence of its own and is performed lyrically and beautifully by the narrator, Bill Wallis. #AllTheStars

So... don‘t ask what took so long but I finally read this little book. And now I can retire from reading. Thank you all, it‘s been real lol.

My star ratings. I had Goodreads for maybe a week before I deleted it in disgust because I need more degrees of love than it allows. 5-star reads are rare and special, not any old thing I happened to love.

I‘m also interested in hearing what people‘s Litsy ratings mean. For me, it‘s:

Pick = worth reading
So-So = barely worth reading
Pan = not worth reading
Bail = didn‘t bother reading to completion

It‘s 2 am. This is a terrifying sci-fi thriller that I didn‘t want to put down even though it freaked me out to no end. Loved it! I‘m at roughly 5 1/2 hours for #24b4Monday and now going to join #Bailey in sleepy land, assuming I don‘t have nightmares (I‘m totally going to have nightmares 😱) #AllTheStars

Without a doubt, one of the best audiobooks that I‘ve listened to so far this year! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 #allthestars!

If I could give this beauty more than five stars, I absolutely would. I loved “Little Fires Everywhere,” but this book was exquisite. I love the writing, I love how I feel like I know the characters, I even love the heartbreak. I will read anything Celeste Ng writes. Easily my favorite book of 2019 thus far. #allthestars
