✅ Another strange book marked off the 1001 list! Thankfully, it was short & fairly easy to follow at double speed. It‘s a disjointed mishmash of stories with way too much graphic M/M sex for me. Some scenes were interesting in how they were repetitively told with slight variations, but I didn‘t get the point. It wasn‘t as difficult of a read as de Sade‘s Justine, but I‘m giving it the same kind of rating.

#August abc #bluebooks @Eggs
All blue. All sitting on the TBR shelves, some for a long time.

Eggs Lovely! I started Infinite Jest, but it was not for me... 5y
Tex2Flo @eggs not sure I‘ll ever get to it. Been sitting there for at least 3 years. All the comments I‘ve read make me think it‘s more trouble than it‘s worth. 5y
Eggs It‘s great if you like looong paragraphs that are essentially 1 sentence!!!🤨🤪🤓 5y

(Day 11 - #LustForLife)

Just a few of the references in Iggy Pop‘s “Lust for Life”
(I just realized that the station ID and dates are hidden: The background is a page from the American Forces Network News in Berlin dated March 17, 1973. Bowie & Iggy would watch “Starsky & Hutch” on that channel when they were in Berlin. “Lust for Life” features a drum riff on the Morse code call signal that the guys heard before their show.)

gradcat Oops! 😬 I assumed (because I forget how very old I am—doh!) that folks would remember the tagged book about Vincent Van Gogh, especially because of the movie starring Kirk Douglas. I know, I know—too much explaining...so sorry! 😐 5y

Mehso-so

David Bowie apparently drew inspiration from The Wild Boys for his character Ziggy Stardust & that‘s about the only thing that makes sense to me after that. I‘ve never been good with stream-of-consciousness. There were parts that I thought were really funny, but mostly I was confused. I struggled through Naked Lunch too. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Mr. Burroughs, we seem to be at loggerheads. I ordered Junky so that we may be done w/ each other. 152/1,001 #1001Books
