I‘m ready @TheAromaofBooks I have four books on my kindle that I need to read in July, so I put it on top lol #bookspin #bookspinbingo

TheAromaofBooks My challenge for reading my oldest Kindle books is probably the one I'm doing the worst at this year... I seem to be a few months behind on that one 😂 3d
BarkingMadRun @TheAromaofBooks oh my, I don‘t even know how many are in there, I‘m the worst at getting the free kindle books for Prime and never reading them 🤣🤣 (edited) 3d
TheAromaofBooks When I first bought my Kindle in 2016 all the opportunities for free books kind of went to my head and there are like a million, so I've been trying to start with the oldest and work through them so I at least FEEL like I'm making progress!! 😂 2d
Kangaj1 I have the same kindle cover! I made one of my suits for #TBRDeckOfCards all my oldest Kindle books, and then one suit was newer Kindle books. Getting through them! 2d

I finished both my #bookspin (tagged) and #doublespin (The Fortunate Ones by Ed Tarkington) today. Both were also #TBRDeckOfCards.

I LOVED the tagged book - so much fun! The other one had fantastic writing, but I hated all of the characters.

Clwojick Woohoo! Way to go! 1w

Okay, @Clwojick 's #BigJuneReadathon has challenged me already to assess where I am with various challenges/goals for the year. I'm doing pretty well at some of them - I'm steadily working my way through classics via #BookSpin and have checked quite a few 600pg+ books off as well. I've been pretty committed to #Roll100 and my #TBRDeckofCards but realized that where I am getting bogged down is SERIES! Somehow I'm already in the middle of five, and⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) my “on deck“ books include the first books in eight more!! So the windowsill pile is reduced both because I did finish seven books on vacation, but also because I removed those eight “first“ books because I won't start them until I finish another series. My #WeeklyForecast involves finishing the tagged book for #LMPBC, and also prioritizing Book Lovers and Book of Night as those are both due back at the library. My #BigJuneReadathon 1mo
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) goals are to finish two series and to complete my reading goals from past months, excluding all the first books. This week I'm also hoping to get back on track with my chapter-a-day reads - I abandoned them all when I was out of town (especially you, Scarlet!) but am ready to get back on the bandwagon and see what happens!! More books coming to the windowsill for next week - I can't believe June is Wednesday!!

Cinfhen Woohoo!!! #Goals 🍾🙌🏻🥳 and I CAN see out the window!!! 1mo
Clwojick Great goals! Series are such a tough one for me. I‘m so bad at starting new series on the daily, and never going back to finish old ones. 🤭 1mo
TheAromaofBooks @Clwojick - I get a little obsessive about reading the series in order, so I get frustrated when I have too many on the go at once! 😂 4w

@Clwojick my goal for June is to finish the tagged & get to as many of these others as I can for #pridemonth. All of them fill a prompt for either #Tbrdeckofcards or #pop22. #bigjunereadathon

Clwojick Great goals! I‘m sure you‘ve heard it everywhere else too, but Evelyn Hugo and Evert Heart a Doorway (and the rest of the series) are AMAZING!!!!! 1mo

@thearomaofbooks #bookspin #bookspinbingo Thanks for the reminder to post my June bookspin list! I still have quite a few from May that I would like to get to, so we'll see if this list sticks.
Also includes books for #TBRDeckOfCards #Roll100 #AuthorAMonth

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! I seem to have a LOT of carry-overs this month! 😂 1mo

Not a book to read at the start of a pandemic, but a few years down the line is OK 😂.

Turns out coronavirus has been around since at least 2006 but it's managed to be contained, only becoming a pandemic when it escaped Asia.

BarbaraBB It sounds fascinating- a few years down the line 😉 2mo
persephone1408 I thought chinese lab altered the coronaviris. 2mo
shanaqui Hmm, do you mean this book claims that SARS-CoV-2 existed in 2006? SARS-CoV-1 has been known since 2002, and of course coronaviruses as a family have been around and worldwide for thousands and thousands of years, but I can't find anything in the scientific literature that suggests that SARS-CoV-2 was circulating prior to 2019...

I've always liked Quammen's work, I'll be disappointed if he's gone astray!

shanaqui @persephone1408 That's one theory that some scientists believe, and many do not. There is no conclusive proof either way, only circumstantial evidence. (My scientific opinion is, for lack of any actual proof otherwise, that it's most likely a natural zoonotic disease.) 2mo
Librarybelle Agree…probably not the best book to read at the start of a pandemic 2mo
jenniferw88 @persephone1408 @shanaqui probably mean SARS-CoV1. The book was mainly on Ebola, after all - coronavirus was only briefly mentioned! 2mo

4 1/2 🌟 because when I started reading it I quickly remembered who the murderer is, as I've watched Suchet's version too many times 😂😂😂

Using for the above #pop22 prompt, as well as #52Booksin52Weeks #Tbrdeckofcards #bilingualcharacter @Clwojick @Cinfhen @Cortg @KarenUK @Kalalalatja @4thhouseontheleft @Megabooks @Laughterhp @squirrelbrain @RaeLovesToRead

RaeLovesToRead This book was incredible and even more incredible that I didn't guess the murderer 😊 2mo

Big Jump for Robin | Suzanne Wilding

Pickpick

This is fairly typical 1960s horse-girl fare haha The story opens with Robin secretly selling her pony to the neighborhood Obnoxious Rich Guy because she has overheard her parents being very stressed about money and wants to do her part. Robin is very mature and hardworking, yet still felt like a real girl, and I was totally rooting for her. I felt like some of the story could have been a little better developed, but overall a nice little ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) story. I bought this one back in 2005 at an antique store - Mom and my sisters and I used to always go shopping during the big OSU/Michigan game 😂 I was drawn to this one because of the illustrations by Sam Savitt, and even though this book wasn't stellar, I'll probably keep it on the shelves because of Savitt's absolutely delightful drawings.
