As the name suggests this book take place over a 61 hour period. This is by far the best Reacher book I‘ve read so far.

I don‘t remember who recommended this book to me for #SouthDakota in the #ReadingUSA2019 challenge but I really loved it. All different worlds come together (the wild west, an Indian reservation and Nazi Germany) in this western about friendship and horses. Very atmospheric, very little is said but with so much meaning.
The book gets hardly any attention here on Litsy but it‘a absolutely worth reading.

squirrelbrain Sounds like a good one! Stacked anyway, even though I don‘t need South Dakota! 2mo
BarbaraBB @squirrelbrain I thought you might but then I scrolles your timeline and found your read! 2mo

This is the story of the American West, told from the Indian point of view. This was a bit of a chunkster and was slightly samey and repetitive in places, but I still found it fascinating and rather shocking. Even here in the UK, when I was at school, we were taught the ‘white man‘s‘ view of Indian history, so this was an eye-opener.

I presume you could use this for a number of states but I‘ve chosen #southdakota. #readingUSA2019

Jee_HookedOnBookz Great review! This book has been on my kindle like forever. Time to bump it up! 2mo
Hooked_on_books I read a book this year about how the Indian is presumed to have disappeared after wounded knee, which is definitely not the case. It‘s written by a Native American and would be a great follow up to this one. 2mo
Librarybelle I really have to read this one, and @Hooked_on_books ...that one is on my radar too. 2mo

Samplergal It‘s been so long since I read that, I do need to reread. You‘re doing great. I actually miss looking for books since I finished this a few weeks ago. Def want to redo next year. 2mo
squirrelbrain Ooh have you finished @samplergal?! How good are you?! Yes, I wondered about doing it again next year. I‘ll decide when I see what other challenges are out there.... 2mo
andrew61 It's a book that I've always wanted to read. 2mo

This was good. They may have been the only black family, but there were “Indians” nearby; Isaac hates the Indians, so Rachel took her cue from her husband (though she would need the help of one of the women later on). I especially liked the way it ended, and would love for there to be a sequel, as I‘d love to know what happens next!

megnews I‘ve had this on my tbr for awhile. Gotta get to it. 2mo
LibraryCin @megnews hope you like it! 2mo

Ugh, that‘s it I‘m calling it. I just don‘t care. I don‘t care if she sells a house. I don‘t care if she finds a boyfriend. I don‘t care who is kidnapping kids. I don‘t care that women in the town are prettier than her and in better shape. I just don‘t care! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Which is too bad, because I was listening for #SouthDakota for #ReadingUSA2019 - now to try and find another book for this state.

BarbaraBB Love this review! 2mo

I'm enjoying listening to this in my car. It has one of my favorite readers, George Guidall.
