saguarosally I waited seven months once. The system here is large but also serves a giant population. Holds for three months are pretty common. 7y

LauraKath @saguarosally Really?! I never imagine something like that to be possible. The longest I ever waited for a book was 2 weeks, but that's understandable. This was my first time waiting over a month. 7y

First time EVER requesting an #audiobook from my #locallibrary I was really expecting a cd or even a cassette but THIS? I had to read the instructions and everything (you know that barely happens in this day and age)
Of course it came without battery because... #QueensLibrary 😅😅
Has anyone used something like this before? How does it work in your library?

Smangela My library has these too! They're called playaways I think. But it also has a large selection of audiobooks on cds. Do you like it? 7y

LauraKath @Smangela Yes playaways! And I do like it... except for the fact that "batteries are not included" ?? Is very convenient nevertheless. And if you meant if I like the book, I like the stories but I'm not sure I like her. I was hoping this book would change that, time will tell. 7y

Smangela How strange that it doesn't have batteries! I'm going to check them out at our library tomorrow and report back on if that's a common thing lol and that's good to know about the book too! I'm not sure how I feel about her either but was still interested in the book. 7y

Donna_sBookMinute Great storyline. Seems to have some substance. It's a funny thing about book titles. This is not one that I'd pick up in the bookstore. But I clicked it here on your recommendation alone. On the other hand, it also draws those who, otherwise, wouldn't select a book containing a bit of substance. 8y
