I picked this up at a library sale last fall. Coming in at 1200 pages, it's definitely a #SuperChunkster. I'm going to try to finish it by the end of the year. @Amiable
pickSuch a good ghost story! And it‘s super short so you can read it in just a few days. Or in one night … if you dare.
pickSometimes I don't know what I feel. Sometimes my circumstances are so strange that I'm lost. I try to use more familiar contexts to give my thoughts some shape but they don't work. I've found something new. These are stories about those feelings. Ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances give these lives an almost Kafka-like surrealism. And the reader gets such a beautiful perspective. Notes of Sherwood Anderson and George Eliot on the finish
This is my favorite of his books based on his life growing up in Dublin. This tells the story of his mom pre-marriage and kids.

so-so2022: 001 - BRIAN MOORE - An Answer From Limbo (1962)
In NY, a wannabe writer selfishly focuses on his work at the cost of friends and family. Arguably too many viewpoints as it jumps about, but Moore definitely on form with his characters, notably the Irish mother. Enjoyed, didn‘t love.

The first couple lines of this book just sucked me in and I cannot wait to read this lovely book.

I have never stepped foot on Irish shores. I would so love to go! A part of my family lives on Dingle Peninsula- I am sure photos do not do it justice. Two Irish authors whose books I love- both helping me to immerse myself in Irish stories.
