Verity I thought this was such a great google doodle. And I was sorta surprised it was her today and not mlk. I‘d forgotten that they were on the same date - but then remembered reading about it in one of her autobiographies. (edited) 6y

The Neverending Story | Michael Ende, Ralph Manheim

One of the saddest, most terrifying movies of my childhood. Seriously, Artax in the Swamp of Sadness has scarred an entire generation. That said, I loved the book AND the movie. And who didn't want a Luck Dragon? Today's #GoogleDoodle was one of the best ones yet.

BekahB I wore out two VHS tapes of this movie as a kid. I had nightmares about Gmork the wolf and my mom refused to stay in the room during the Swamp of Sadness scene because it was so sad. I haven't read the book, but now I think I'll give it a try! 😄 8y
