28 books in June! 🤯 There was a few short books, but I was really trying to catch up on some of my challenges.

This is a really dark, but really good world war 2 book. The Germans are ruthless, and she has to protect France with her comrades and find her mother. She has lovers and has to decide who to spend her life with. Genevieve has quality lovers and family, but the war makes her worry about losing them. She is not weak, but she isn‘t immortal. She is brave, but she also suffers. I loved this book.

Incredible. This was just as devastating as everybody said it would be. I need more of her books.
This story of two sisters, who experience the Nazis taking over their home of Paris, is so well done. The way they are both different people, yet deep down desire the same thing. Which is complex while staying simple to each woman. I‘m in awe for the writing style; bringing about such a terrible story and making it feel so real.

Wow, what a story! If I hadn‘t been at work while reading this I would have cried my eyes out at the end. What a beautiful but heartbreaking story of two sisters living in German occupied France during WW2. I believe they are trying to make a movie from this book but I can‘t see how they will fit such story into a 2 hr movie. If you like historical fiction, I definitely recommend!

This was my first book I‘ve read by Kristin Hannah and I loved her writing style. Although this book was long, I never felt like she was drawing out details or over explaining things.
This book had so many great things going for it. The emotions of love, betrayal, anxiety, heartbreak and fear, it was an emotional roller coaster but so well written.

LoverOfLearning This was my 2nd book I read by her. A heavy read but so good! 4mo

Yesterday‘s op shop purchases after ballet. Grand total 🟰 $17. It was another fabulous day at my ballet school‘s Summer Intensive. Pilates to warm up then a repertoire class learning the Aurora wedding variation from Sleeping Beauty followed by a mindfulness session. Then home for a wine and stretch. I‘m pretty sore.

BethM That‘s super cheap! 6mo

10/5 ⭐️
I cannot praise this book enough. A heart-wrenching story everyone should read. I will definitely read more books by this author.

DimeryRene This was my first by her and I agree!! Wonderful. I read The Four Winds next and liked it, but not as much. I have The Great Alone that I will get to in 2025. 6mo
