June was a good month for reading, thanks to a mostly restful vacation where I finished 7 of these 11 books. I tagged my favorite of the month. Stats:

7 for #Greenland #foodandlit (1 doing double duty with #authoramonth)
3 for #serieslove (double duty with #foodandlit)
2 for #authoramonth (plus 1 finished in May)
2 for #campLitsy
1 for #klbr

I‘m really enjoying these novellas about the #Greenland missing persons department. I hope I am find more that have been translated to English. #FoodAndLit

Texreader I think all of them have been translated. I‘ve enjoyed them too and love that they‘re such quick reads. So far they are free with Kindle Unlimited but I‘ve only read the first three and another one out of order. 1d

Bengali snack - sweet and sour chanachur

Peanuts, rice, raisins, carom seeds, nigella seeds, sugar dust, dried mango powder, chili powder, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger powder, and asafoetida

Really behind on the food for #FoodandLit Although, I have a Peruvian restaurant close to me. @Texreader @Catsandbooks

Bookwormjillk I'm so behind on the food too. Might get Peruvian for dinner tonight though if I can find something vegetarian. 1d
Butterfinger @Bookwormjillk I found out in my Andes book our potatoes originated in Peru. I think it said 2000 varieties. There is one potato that the indigenous people have been freeze drying for centuries. 1d

Veeeery late, here is a version of faluda, a Bangladeshi / South-Asian dessert, perfect in hot weather. I used mango, pistachios, homemade pistachio-flavoured agar jelly, tapioca pearls, chia seeds (I was out of tukmaria), kewra water, condensed milk, and milk. Delicious!

Thermometer shows 27.7°C (81°F) inside and 37°C (98.6°F) outside. It's going to go up in the next days too. 😲 🔥 😎

Texreader That‘s hotter than Texas right now!! 1d
Catsandbooks Yum! 1d
Dilara @Texreader Oh wow! I looked up the climate in Texas, and there's not one place that's not desert, semi-arid, subtropical or mediterranean🌞. The climate is supposed to be oceanic (so, mild all year-round) where I live, but you couldn't tell right now... 9h
Dilara @Catsandbooks @Eggs Thanks! It definitely was yum! 9h

Tuukula slid a plate onto the table - fried egg with mushrooms from a glass jar, heaped on top of a piece of square toast, buttered thickly.

#FoodAndLit #Greenland was a challenge on the food side, so I decided to recreate this breakfast from the tagged book. Yummy! Probably more suitable to someone who needs to hunt outside near the Arctic Circle than someone who sits at a desk, but a nice treat on a Monday morning.

TheBookHippie Oh nice!!!! This was a difficult food month! 2d

I really enjoy nonfiction when the author travels, meets new people, and learns about new cultures. MacQuarrie follows the Andes through Peru, Bolivia, and Argentina to research the Ice Maiden, Pablo Escobar, Hiram Bingham, and so much more. He uses today's issues, such as bringing back ancient weaving and interweaves it with the archeology of yesterday's events. The entire book kept me glued. #FoodandLit @texreader @Catsandbooks

Bookwormjillk Sounds like a good one! 2d
Texreader Loving all your reviews! 2d
Butterfinger @texreader I dropped my phone in the ocean while I was trying to take a picture of a horseshoe crab that washed up. It took me a week to replace it. I had to catch up on my reviews. Plus, since I didn't have a phone to distract me, I read for July. 2d

It answered my questions about Italy's state politics and why Martin Luther was adamant about breaking away from the depravity of the church. Lucretia was not written as part of the evil; she was a tool to further her father's powers. It was Cesare who was the ruthless murderer. #Jubilee #FoodandLit @texreader @catsandbooks
