pick55 & 56/100 Dungeons & Dragons was definitely one of my all time favorite Saturday morning cartoons, even though I was a little old for cartoons when it came out. I enjoyed seeing the characters again, still trying to get home, still fighting against Venger. pickThis was a cute one. I found myself invested in the storyline rather quickly. The grandma killed me, I love her so much. She might actually be the best part of the whole book. It was a fun story to mix up what I have been reading lately.
pickI didn‘t finish it in one day, but I did wrap it up this morning over tea. Just as good as the first, there‘s no connection between them (except a blink-and-you‘ll-miss-it cameo by an unnamed Riley). Quinn has baggage to deal with when she joins Logan‘s D&D group at her new school, and their brewing attraction could scuttle the whole game. Green flags abound in these stories! Just the pick-me-up I needed when the world is terrible.
I'm going to be running a few of the heists from here. I think I'll do a review for each one and how it went 😅

bailedStructure-wise, this is a perfectly fine D&D book, but I personally didn‘t really connect with the setting or the conflicts between the various guilds. This might work better for fans of Magic: The Gathering.
pickI liked this better than Monsters of the Multiverse. What I liked best was the descriptions of various species‘ pantheons, which will be very helpful to me as I build my Elf Cleric.
When the book is just too good to stop, but you have to leave for school. Teaching kiddo the second how to read and walk safely.
