Fun, sexy, fantasy read but the ending… woah! I did not see it coming at all. It was like a car crash ending. I don‘t know how I feel about this 🤔#adultfantasy #winterreading

Originally published in Unknown Worlds magazine, 1942, salvaged from utter obscurity by the author's friend and series editor of Ballantine Adult Fantasy, Lin Carter, to sink back into relative obscurity as, going by the reviews of others, it's not that good. However, I'm not looking for deep at the moment, so sailing shallow waters may be just the thing, & Carter's introduction paints such a lovely picture of Bok that I'm happy to give him a try.

DrexEdit That's an attractive/appealing cover illustration also! 2y
Bookwomble @DrexEdit It was the cover that first caught my eye 😊 An interesting choice of somebody else's artwork, as Bok was primarily an illustrator, had done cover art for this story, but it wasn't used in either magazines or book publication 🤷🏻‍♂️ The one they went with is good though, a nice wraparound cover 😊 2y

The hype surrounding this books has been well deserved. I loved it!

A fantastical read about Addie LaRue, a 23 year old girl who makes a deal with the devil only to find out that need to be careful what you wish for. She was careless and desperate when she prayed to god in the darkness and he took advantage of it. She asked for freedom and he provided it...

Color me surprised. I definitely thought this would be a solid 5 🌟 read, but it isn't. I need to gather my thoughts to give a complete review, but for now it's a 4 🌟 book for me. It was great but not something that I'll be inclined to pick up again & reread. I definitely want to read the next book though.

When a fifth season comes to wipe out humanity, how will you survive? Can we talk about the world building and how attached to the characters I became? Learning about what the orogenes can do is fascinating. Once everything started to come together, I was FLOORED. I immediately went the next day and got the sequel and really hope to get to it soon because I have to know what happens next. #adultfantasy #fantasy #scifi

The Rage of Dragons - Book review of a story that's more the rage of a warrior than the rage of dragons. What happens when a single man's plan for vengeance is caught up in a complicated web of political wars? Read my review of The Rage of Dragons, an adult fantasy novel by Evan Winter.

This was an early book by the author & it shows. There was a lot to like here in the southern gothic vein with creepy house, people and paranormal elements. But the creepiness wasn‘t fully explored and there were plot elements that were never developed or explained. The ending was a HFN that was somewhat open-ended like there could have been a sequel & there wasn‘t. 🖤🖤🖤 #romantsy
