As a reader raised on Nancy Drew, whose mother read a lot of crime books of one sub genre or another, it‘s no surprise that probably 3/4 of my bookshelves are filled with books detailing #murder. Pictured is my #akashicnoir collection.

charl08 Nice! I have Lagos Noir, and want to get more of the African ones. 2mo
DGRachel @chal08 I‘m hoping to eventually have them all, but there‘s around 100 so far and they keep releasing more. 🤦🏻‍♀️ 2mo

I have been chomping at the bit for this #bookmail ever since I saw that Berlin was planned, and I couldn‘t pass up Houston, either, since I lived just outside of Houston for a couple of years when I was much younger. 🤩 #akashicnoir #noir #bookbirthday

Lizpixie I just received Boston & Los Angeles to add to Sydney. I‘m hoping to add them slowly but there‘s so many of them!📚📚📚📚📚📚 7mo
DGRachel @Lizpixie I‘m up to 16 in my collection, but yeah...there‘s almost 100 with more published every couple of months. 😱😱 7mo
JazzFeathers I just love the sound of Berlin Noir 😍 7mo

#bookmail - slowly but surely building my #AkashicNoir collection, plus a copy of The Neverending Story for #LMPBC #GroupR #Round5. I can‘t wait to share this book!

Mitch How funny.. I saw the photo before I saw your Litsy handle and knew it was a post from you x ❤️ 10mo

Mehso-so

Finally finished. This was the most unbalanced, inconsistent set of stories I‘ve encountered in the #AkashicNoir series, so far. There were a couple of true gems, hence the so-so rating, but I found most to be boring, nonsensical, or offensive. This might be partly an issue of translation and partly a cultural issue, but regardless, I found this collection to be disappointing when taken as a whole.

Someday, I‘ll take cash and just walk out of the used bookstore with the one book they had on hold for me. Today was not that day. 😂 In my defense: behold an #AkashicNoir, #NortonCriticalEdition, AND Penguin trade edition John Le Carre novel that I don‘t already own. How‘s a girl supposed to resist? #bookhaul

#bailey fell asleep in my lap while I watched Richard Burton in The Spy Who Came in from the Cold. So, I had @dsfisher hand me this to read, rather than disturb her. The first story was 😱😱. #noir #akashicnoir #akashicbooks #snugglebuddy #dogsoflitsy #pitbullsoflitsy

Today‘s #bookmail. I am officially obsessed with the #AkashicNoir series. 2019 is going to be the #yearofnoir #aroundtheworld for me. 😍

JazzFeathers These look lo great. I love the idea of a series of noir book set in different places. Do you know how many there are? 11mo
DGRachel @JazzFeathers It looks like there‘s about 100 so far. Some cities have two or three collections. http://www.akashicbooks.com/subject/noir-series/ 11mo

Looks like I‘m going to have to stop saying I dislike short stories. I‘ve read Part One of this collection, and while the first one was not my jam (I really hated the MC/first-person narrator), I loved the next two and now must go find other things written by those authors. Oh, Akashic Noir series, I think you are going to be very bad for my already overflowing TBR.
