Thank you to all who participated! I very much enjoyed seeing your posts. 😍 The ingenuity some put towards their daily photos, such as using only quotes or using retellings/adaptations, was super creative! You made my month by celebrating in reaching 200 copies of a most beloved book, Pride and Prejudice!

And I have to give a personal shoutout to my co-host @mabell , who put forth a lot of time and dedication into this challenge!

CrowCAH @jenniferw88 @TheAromaofBooks @CoverToCoverGirl thank you for posting EVERY DAY! I feel like I should already have your addresses, but alas I could not find them in my notebooks. Please, email me cynthiaannehurt at gmail dot com, so I can mail your party parcels! 2mo
CrowCAH @Librarybelle @mabell @LeahBergen @StayCurious @rubyslippersreads THANK YOU for joining the daily theme challenge!!! I already have your address information from a previous challenge I hosted. If you think I have an old address, please, email me at cynthiaannehurt at gmail dot com. I‘ll be going to the post office in about a week to mail your party parcels! 2mo
StayCurious Thank you both so much for hosting a fun challenge and though I fell behind, I had fun trying to think of how to catch up! 2mo

Now, we are celebrating #200PnPcovers, and our favorite #soldier has returned! This year, he is joined by Lydia, lovely and glowing, fresh from a #walk! (Poor Ted)

[Unfortunately, we could not get them in the same photo, as Lydia kept attempting to disrobe Wickham. 😆]

Congratulations, Cynthia! I‘m so glad I got to celebrate your 200 party with you! ❤️

LeahBergen I was just recently looking at the previous photo of Wickham from the 100 Covers Challenge and laughing to myself. 🤣🤣 And quit being such a little trollop with the militia, Lydia! 🤣 2mo
LeahBergen Oops! I kept scrolling and just saw your other photo. It was 150 covers! 2mo
mabell @LeahBergen Bella was not excited to reprise her Wickham role - she thought she had seen the last of that costume 😂 “Little trollop” - Oh Ted 🤣🤣 2mo

Day 31: #Walks

Sure, Mrs. Elton. Very natural and simple. 😆

And with this post I have completed the entire month of the #200PnPCovers challenge! It‘s been a while since I‘ve done a daily posting challenge and this was lots of fun.

Thanks so much for hosting, @CrowCAH and @mabell !

mabell Oh Mrs. Elton 😆 A quite picturesque way to end! Thank you so much for posting this month, Leah! I loved reading your pithy quotes from Jane and peeking into your lovely collection! 2mo
CrowCAH What a nice repast! Yay, I‘m so glad you joined the fun and posted daily! Can‘t go wrong with Jane Austen!!! 2mo

I could listen to any of these audiobooks when I #walk to the post office to send #litsylove etc, but most of the time music wins as I find I don't stop to get my breath back as frequently.

mabell Audiobooks are great for a walk! 2mo
CrowCAH I agree, listening to a book while walking isn‘t the best. I found podcasts work a little better. 2mo

(This one is not in the system)

I just realized that I'm getting ready to end this lovely month-long journey on a bit of a downer! I probably should have chosen one that I really liked as the grand finale, but since this one had #walk in the title, I went with it lol

So the main reason I didn't like this one was because it makes Colonel Fitzwilliam into the villain!! I've always had a soft spot for him, so I'm never going to jive with versions ⬇

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) turn him into the villain. While Elizabeth is staying at Rosings, she finds CF to be charming and likable. But when she runs into him while she is out for a walk, she is shocked when he asks her to be his mistress. When she refuses, he assaults and threatens her, telling her that if she doesn't agree when he next finds her, he'll “make the decision for her.“ When E gets back to the parsonage, it's just in time to meet Darcy, on his way ⬇ 2mo
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) to propose. Finding her shaken and distraught, D pieces together the puzzle and realizes CF is to blame, and helps E by swiftly making arrangements for her to return to the safety of the Gardiner's home in London. Basically, the stage is set for E to realize that not all charmers are actually nice people, and maybe Darcy isn't so bad after all. However, it mostly left me wondering what it was about Darcy that meant both his childhood ⬇ 2mo
TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) best friends (CF and Wickham) somehow were the same slimy person... I'm not confident that I'd give Darcy a clean bill of character based on his other relationships! This wasn't exactly a bad variation, it was just extremely dull after the action-packed first chapter or two. While I understand that E went through an extremely traumatic experience, she really seems like the type of person who would pull herself through rather than ⬇ 2mo

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) succumbing to depression and despair. The whole book just had a downer vibe to it. And I feel like titling your book “unpleasant“ when using it to describe the scene of such a dreadful attack feels a bit on the ridiculous side of understatement!

So yes, sorry to end with a downer book, but I have so enjoyed revisiting some of the (many) P&P variations I've read over the years. I may need to set aside some time for another binge soon 😂
TheAromaofBooks Thank you so much for hosting #200PnPcovers @CrowCAH @mabell 2mo
LeahBergen This has been a fun month and I‘ve heartily enjoyed seeing all your variations. 😊 2mo
mabell Yikes this one does sounds like a downer, but it was too perfect for walk! Thank you so much for posting this month! I looked forward to seeing each new variation every day! I am definitely going to save the titles of a few to read myself! ❤️ 2mo
CrowCAH No worries. I agree, Elizabeth would pick herself up and persevere. You‘re welcome! ☺️ So glad that you joined us! There are MANY retellings out there! 2mo
TheAromaofBooks @LeahBergen @mabell - Thank you!! I just love P&P variations so much so it was a lot of fun to go back through some of them!! 2mo

I highlighted this one a few years ago on Litsy, and it works perfectly for the final #200PnPCovers prompt #walks . Take the paths of Austen on these self guided tours of Austen‘s stomping grounds. Along the way, Edwards highlights Austen history and the area‘s history.

Thanks to @CrowCAH and @mabell for hosting a fun Austen challenge!!

LeahBergen This looks lovely! I‘ve enjoyed your posts this month, especially when we overlapped. 😆😆 2mo
mabell What a perfect ending! (And this sounds like a wonderful book!) Thank you so much for participating - I loved seeing all the fabulous Austen-related books in your collection! 2mo
CrowCAH You‘re welcome ☺️ Thank you so much for joining the challenge! 2mo
Librarybelle @LeahBergen I know, right??? 😂 I‘ve enjoyed your posts too! 2mo

“Young ladies must guard their reputation at all times; a male relative or servant should accompany you when travelling.

Lady Catherine de Bourgh insists it would be ‘highly improper‘ for Elizabeth Bennet and Maria Lucas to #travel unaccompanied by post: ‘Young women should always be properly guarded and attended, according to their situation in life.‘ Elizabeth reassured her ladyship that her uncle would send a servant for them.”

CrowCAH But that male chaperone could take advantage of lone females! Hopefully not, but it‘s best to be in ones guard. 2mo
