pickOddly, for a book that's largely meant to be amusing, some of the stories in here packed a solid punch -- such as the story of helping her friend deal with pancreatic cancer and the one about her mother's mastectomy.
Apparently I'm not handling 50 that well. All my posts on this book have booze or chocolate, or both, in them. #letthemeatcake17
so-soI wanted to love this book. The title is great and I've always found Annabelle funny. I did laugh out loud a couple times, but not that often. I'd give it 2 1/2 ⭐️. It is between a so-so and a pick.
I've been in a memoir/essays rut lately. I'm hoping that will turn around with Wishful Drinking.
pickFinished an audio book today too. Having just turned 50 this year, i appreciated the humor. Woman should seriously get some pads instead of wearing dark pants on the trampoline!
I decided this one would be good as an audiobook so I got that too.

so-soHumor is subjective and I didn't find this amusing. She seemed to be way too wrapped up in her appearance and angry to be aging. Those of us lucky enough to age are in the same boat and should keep youthful at heart and damn the torpedoes!
