A hilarious and heartfelt novel about how loves and lives are never truly lost, for fans of Rebecca Serle and Taylor Jenkins Reid. With a leading role on a hit TV show and a relationship with Hollywood's latest heartthrob, Meg Bryan appears to have everything she ever wanted. But underneath, her happiness is as fake as her stage name, Lana Lord. Following a tiny nervous breakdown at her thirtieth birthday party, she books an impromptu trip to Ireland. Specifically, to the village where she and her best friend Aimee always dreamt of moving. When Meg arrives, the people in town don't just recognize her, they seem to know her. She quickly--reluctantly--realizes she has somehow slipped into an alternate reality. One where she did move to Ireland as a teenager, one where she never got famous, and--most shocking of all--one where Aimee is alive and well. She just wants nothing to do with Meg. Despite her bewilderment, Meg is clear-eyed about one thing: this is a once-in-two-lifetimes chance to reconnect with her friend and repair what she broke . . . or else risk losing Aimee all over again.

My son passed on a lovely (not!!!) cold. Listening to the tagged #audiobook and drinking tea is all I can do at the moment. 😬 I'm grumpy about it, because I would rather get my to-do list done.

BarbaraBB Take care! You need to be up and running next week 😀😘 (edited) 1mo
julesG @BarbaraBB thanks!!! I know. I'm really cross with my son for bringing this home. 1mo

This book began as a fun Hallmarkish (must be a word, right🤣) story as the hand of one bff displays 2 lifelines while the hand of the other bares a single extinguishing line. The story soon became something more complex than what Hallmark resolves in the last 4-minutes of their HEAs - and not only that, Meg/Lana left LA for location in Ireland 🇮🇪

marleed Funny thing, I was taking pics of some of my newest book purchases and realized I tucked this one into my bookshelves completely forgetting the purchase. What a lovely surprise 📖📚 1mo
AnnCrystal Love when our libraries becomes magical like that 📚👏🏼🥳📚💝. 1mo
marleed @AnnCrystal it one thing when I put off reading a book so long that it landed on the bottom of my TBR. But I made this purchase just a couple months ago, immediately shelved it - and forgot all about it. Proof of why I just need to keep my new purchases in a (hmm-mm not so) little stack and keep them in my line of sight 🤣 1mo
AnnCrystal @marleed 👏🏼😂 I've done this way too often. I've recently created a little pile of books that I'm keeping handy...I have named this next-2- read stash of books, Hector Victor (simply because I have a silly habit of naming everything 😂🤔🤗). 1mo

Wow, what a gut punch that last 1/3 of this book is! I would have loved to spend twice as long with these characters, but alas, the story wrapped up.

I love a sliding doors/path not taken story and this one was great. A famous actress wakes up in an a Irish village experiencing a life she might have had. The audiobook is read by the author (who has a theatre background) and she did great. It was fun and also sweet and poignant. I will definitely read what she writes next.

Meg has made it as an actress, but has had to change herself and is kinda exhausted by the Hollywood scene. So she takes a trip to a town in Ireland where she had wanted to go to school. Somehow, she discovers herself in the life she would have lived had she done so. I really enjoyed this one and thought the author did a good job pulling it all together. Plus there‘s some good humor sprinkled through.

My current reads feel like an interesting mix, but it‘s weird not to have a thriller going too!

This would be a fun one to talk about so I can see why it‘s a #BOTM add-on! It opens on TV actress Lana Lord‘s 30th & though she has everything she ever dreamed of back when she was Florida‘s Meg Bryan, she starts to think about the what-if her life—& her best friend Aimee‘s— might look like had she gone to the Irish liberal arts college she dreamed of. She impulsively gets on a flight…when she arrives, the town already knows her as Meg, not Lana!

TorieStorieS Distractingly, the alternate reality has some errors that I kept thinking would tie in somehow… but they never did. Hayley Mills was not in FREAKY FRIDAY, Shirley Temple was not discovered in a soda shop & ABC stores are not further east than Las Vegas… but I otherwise really liked this one! 4mo
