WARNING: This book is for mature readers only. Not for children. It contains adult themes, violence, coarse language, sexual situations, nudity, and paranormal themes. The entire world is on the brink of finding out nightmares are real. An army of demons known as the Noctis is growing in strength. They control all manner of foul beasts and if not stopped soon, cities will burn, lives will end, and hope will be lost. The only thing standing in the way are the Journeymen; humans and supernatural beings united against the darkness. There is one known amongst men and the supernatural alike that you don't mess with. Unless it's on his terms. His name is Gage Crosse and he's the best damn Journeyman around. These are his adventures.

So I‘m new here. Can anyone suggest how to make friends and groups that are LGBTQ friendly? Anyone interested in LGBTQ books? I‘m an author who will be coming out with a book soon and looking for an audience that might be interested.

DGRachel To start, I would suggest searching for books that you know are of interest to your target audience, see who has commented on those books, and follow them. A lot of people automatically follow back, which will help you build your audience. 6y
Charles Thank you. I‘ll try that approach! 6y
LibrarianJen A while back @RaimeyGallant put together a #LitsyTips post that is super helpful for starting out: http://bit.ly/2qmCW4O 6y

Charles Thank you!!!! 6y
LiteraryinLawrence Lots of us are interested in LGBTQ+ characters and voices! I‘ve seen several hashtags that are related, so looking at those tags might help you find followers and book comments. I‘ll look some up... 6y
LiteraryinLawrence Some of the bigger hashtags are #queerbooks, #lgbtbooks, and also related are #weneeddiversebooks and #ownvoices. I‘m sure I‘m missing a bunch! 6y
Charles Thank you!!!! 6y
RaimeyGallant Further to the link provided so kindly by @LibrarianJen :), The trick is to gain a following, and then maybe start your own event or work with some of the other event organizers to tag an LGBT theme onto their event. Lots of us are reading #LGBT books. :) 6y
Charles These are all great suggestions and I‘d definitely like to do it. I‘m just so confused as to how to make friends on here and find groups and links and stuff. I know I know it‘s not rocket science but I‘ve literally never done any social media other than FB LOL! 6y
Charles @RaimeyGallant is there a way to find groups of LGBTQ readers or join a Litsy group? 6y
RaimeyGallant No group function at the moment. Hashtags can work but work better when you have a following. Check out the tips, because they explain how to gain a following quickly. 6y
LibrarianJen For making friends just find some people with similar interests and start commenting on their posts. Most people respond back and before long a friendship is made! As for groups those sometimes organically transpire. For instance I participated in #lotrchapteraday and there are other buddy reads happening. ⬇️ 6y
LibrarianJen I‘m thinking of doing an Outlander chapter a day read in the spring. You just decide to do something and do it! Make a post about it and if there is interest people will repost it and it spreads similar to word of mouth. 6y
Charles @LibrarianJen thank you! I think I need to spend more time figuring out how to even find people and what they‘re Interested in...I mean I haven‘t figured out how to look for their Interests yet. Lol. I‘ll get it...just gonna take me some time I thinj 6y
sprainedbrain Welcome to Litsy! Looks like others have given you my best suggestions for finding people here... I find that following lots of people works well for me - the more posts I see the more fun it is. You can always unfollow people if needed. 😃 6y
Redwritinghood Welcome! I think looking at the relevant hashtags is probably the best place to start. I‘m not aware of any specific reading groups. 6y
Soubhiville There is also a postal group... have you heard of those yet? Typically someone organizes groups of 12 or so readers who each choose one book to share with the others. Each month you get a book in the mail to read, make notes about in the journal that comes with it, and then you pass it to the next person in the Circle. You get your book back in a year, with your journal written in by all your new friends! 6y
Charles Wow such good advice thank you all! You are the best! 6y
Soubhiville #queergoespostal found it! I‘m not sure how far in they are, but if you check it out you‘ll find some folks to follow. 6y
Charles @Soubhiville 🙏 thank you ❤️ 6y
Soubhiville You bet! Welcome! Litsy is my favorite social media. I hope it‘ll be yours too! 6y
Dragon Welcome to Litsy! I read a bit of everything 👍 6y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Welcome you Litsy!!! ❤️📚☺️ You will love it here!!! 6y
Bklover Welcome! 6y
tpixie Welcome!! 6y
Charles Thanks for the nice welcome everyone 6y
Reggie Also, try looking up a lgbtq book and seeing who has reviewed it and go from there. 6y
Charles @Reggie so true and I just figured that out this afternoon lol I‘m so slow lol 6y
Alfoster All are welcome here! Shout out you books and we will follow!😍 6y
Alfoster “Your” 6y
Charles @Alfoster thank you! I have one cozy mystery out but Litsy doesn‘t have it listed yet for me to review! Hoping they will soon 6y
Alfoster Post it as a different book and explain in your post! We will all pay attention!😍 6y
Charles Cool! Thank you 🙏😍 6y
Susanita There‘s an account for @LitsyHappenings that shares posts about giveaways, read alongs, swaps, and things like that. 6y
JoRead Welcome to Litsy! 6y
Bibliogeekery Hi! Welcome to Listy! I'm co-ordinating two queer postal book clubs right now. There are some great queer folks on Litsy. I could post a message on my feed asking for queer folks to follow you and reach out to you re: groups if you'd like? 6y
Charles @Bibliogeekery hey!!! Thank you! Can you explain to me the postal groups?!? 6y
Bibliogeekery Also - if you search the hashtags #queerbooks #transbooks #qgp1 #qgp2 #lgbtbooks you'll find some folks to follow. 6y
Bibliogeekery Sure. So it's a group of approx. 12 people who each pick a book they like and send it and a journal to the next person on the list. The person reads the book, makes notes on it and sends it to the next person. Eventually, you end up with your original book back with a notebook full of notes on it. 6y
Charles That‘s cool! 6y
Bibliogeekery The idea is lovely, and some of the groups seem quite functional on Litsy but the two groups I'm running keep having trouble with people dropping out, dropping off Litsy and not passing along the books they have. It's been a lot of work and a bit frustrating 6y
Charles I can imagine they would be. I‘m not sure when you‘re putting together the groups but as soon as I‘m done with my LGBT romance I‘ll let you know! 6y
Bibliogeekery Definitely let me know! 6y
TheResistance @Bibliogeekery are you still running these postal bookclubs? I would be very interested! 6y
Bibliogeekery @TheResistance the two I'm running are just finishing up. I'm not currently planning on doing another one (they've been really complicated, lots of drop outs and disappearing books) but I'll definitely let you know if I decide to do another one! #queerbooks 6y
TheResistance @Bibliogeekery I understand. Please do stick me on the waiting list though and hmu if you decide to do one 📚🌈🌈 6y
