The second book in this series is just as good as the first. Old Money Captain of Industry unwillingly falls in love with a self-styled medium, hustling to provide for her siblings in Gilded Age NYC. This romance has politics and class consciousness and a topnotch enemies-to-lovers dynamic.

This is book #2 in the Knickerbocker Club series. I didn't like this one quite as much as the first one. The heroine, Ava, was interesting, but I didn't care much for Will. I did really enjoy the setting of the gilded age in NYC. #romantsy #historicalromance

"Voting should be simple, yet America's electoral procedure seemed more like a drunken circus rife with corruption."

Historical romance or modern day news report? #romancy #goldenage #relevant

And so it continues*

"He could still drive spikes with his rock-hard erection"

All I can think of is him jumping up and down naked to use it like a hammer (because length-wise surely to drive a spike or he risks a primitive probe in a delicate spot surely) on some kind of giant tent peg thing.

? ? ? ouch. Not going to be up for anything after that is he?

Am I over-thinking this?!
