Weird Al: The Book
Weird Al: The Book | Nathan Rabin
7 posts | 1 to read
The undisputed king of pop-culture parody, Weird Al Yankovic has sold more comedy recordings than any other artist in history, receiving three Grammy Awards (and 14 nominations) in the process. The man behind classics such as Eat It, Amish Paradise, and White & Nerdy performed in more than 100 cities throughout North America, Europe, and Australia in support of his latest (and, to date, highest-charting) album, "Alpocalypse." At last the time has come for a comprehensive illustrated tribute to this icon of the American humor landscape. Covering more than three decades of hilarious songs, videos, concert performances, and his life story in words and pictures, and featuring an introduction, lists, tweets, and photo captions from Yankovic himself, "Weird Al: The Book" is the ultimate companion piece to an extraordinary career. Praise for "Weird Al: The Book" Part biography and part pop culture museum, "Weird Al: The Book" is a treat. A gorgeous look at Yankovic s life. "Huffington Post" "

From “Trash Day”

“There's somethin' rotten here (say what?)
You better hold your nose, oh (uh, uh, uh, uh)
(Hey, you disgusting slob, you gotta take the trash out)
Oh, boy there's a lot in here (a lot)
And every day it grows (uh, uh, uh, uh)
(Hey, you disgusting slob, you gotta take the trash out)
Make ya wanna throw up”

Did some house cleaning of bunch of old books and CDs today and came away with a lot of store credit. Part of that went towards this coffee table book.

Saw Weird Al for the first time last year in Georgia, and was thrilled to learn he'd be coming to my home town this summer on his new tour. Definitely gonna get my tickets soon.

Yesterday while waiting for my girlfriend I struck gold at a used bookstore. I had no idea Weird Al had an official biography out.

April You take such beautiful book/food photos! And I love the crocheted placemats--great splashes of color! 3y
DennisJacobRosenfeld @April Why, thank you! I'm glad you like the photos. The placemats are courtesy of my girlfriend! 3y
April @DennisJacobRosenfeld She's very talented! 3y
DennisJacobRosenfeld @April I agree! She's making new ones at the moment. Once they're done they'll probably start showing up in the photos. 3y
