Years ago, a former staff member told me she could tell the moment Beaton stopped writing her books (before Beaton passed away). This marks the first one to me that did not quite ring true for Agatha. Or, perhaps it‘s not really mystery-based for its own reasons. Obsession is a big theme in this, and the mystery somewhat gets lost in it. As an audio, because Davina Porter narrates, I kept wondering why Claire Fraser was in the Cotswolds. 😮

I love Agatha Raisin, though this wasn‘t my favorite mystery. I didn‘t get the significance of the title.

Maybe my least favorite one in the series. Everyone seemed slightly out of character and I was confused by the change in one characters backstory. It didn‘t help that it was read by another person.

My wife and I listened to this on a road trip. It was perfect road trip fodder: light, silly, and fun.

I‘ve been listening to the Agatha Raisin series via #audiobook since book 2 and I‘m up to 23. I consistently rate them with 4⭐️, although of course there are a few exceptions. I notice a lot of the Goodreads reviewers tend to get disillusioned with Agatha the farther they go in the series. For me, I really love these because it‘s a comfort thing. I love the characters and the murders are almost a secondary thing to me. I enjoyed this just ⬇️

JenlovesJT47 As much as the others. The murders in this one were pretty gruesome 🐍 and I actually correctly guessed the murderer straight away. I‘m still so sad the author has passed away. I‘m getting towards the end of the series and don‘t know what I‘ll do with myself when I‘m done! I‘d highly recommend this series, especially via audiobook, for when you‘re in the mood for something light and cozy. 4⭐️ #cozymystery 3y

Another enjoyable read in the Agatha Raisin Series. This one plays out over quite a long time and it was good to see a bit of a bigger role for Toni in this one - she is about the most likeable character in this series. Although Agatha isn't always the most likeable person, I do enjoy spending time with her and there are times with the stupid things she does she makes me laugh and smile. This book was just what the doctor ordered!

Wanted a bit of a lighter Read so starting book 23 in the Agatha Raisin Series, no doubt be another murder in those lethal Cotswold villages! Always good to head back to Carsley.

Not one of my favorite Agatha Raisins but not the worst either.
